The New York Genealogical and Biographical Record, Vol. 131, January 2000, pages 3-10, the artical "Robert Jackson's Wives and Children," by Harry Macy, Jr. states that there is absolutely no evidence that Agnes Washburn ever existed. The name Agnes Washburn was actually a composite of two of his wives, Agnes Puddington (a widow), and ____ Washburn, daughter of William Washburn. He also married an unknown woman. His children were from two of these marriages.

Robert JACKSON, born abt. 1615-20 in England, died Hempstead, Long Island in about 1683. He married first, unknown, probably in England, who died at Hempstead. Second, at Hempstead in about 1650-53, ____WASHBURN, born at Bengeworth, worcestershire, England, died Hempstead in about 1656. Third, about 10 April 1660, Agnes ( ) PUDDINGTON, widow of Robert PUDDINGTON, born about 1615, probably in Devonshire, England, died after 1683.
