Alexander Bone was the next to last child of Thomas and Frances Blackmore Bone. He was christened in St Stephen In Brannel parish the 3rd of February, 1822.

The 1841 census gives the occupation of Alexander as a tin miner. He was living with his sister, Mary Ann Bone the wife of Henry Bone, at Boscoppa Downs in the parish of St Austell. (HO 107 146/4/9/10)

It is believed that Alexander was twice married. His first wife is believed to be to Jane Warne. They were married in St Blazey parish the 28th of May, 1843. The 1851 census shows them living at Hard Head in St Stephen In Brannel parish. He is listed as a copper miner. Jane is listed as age 27 and as having been born in St Stephens. Also with them are two daughters: Ellen Jane at age 8 and Lucinda at age 5, along with two visitors: Elizabeth Yelland, age 40 (Alexander's sister, who went by the name of Betsy) and Elizabeth Williams, age 7 (Elizabeth/Betsy's grand-daughter via her daughter Martha Williams).

The 1861 census shows Alexander and Jane living at Coombe in St Stephen In Brannel. No other individuals were listed in the household. The 1871 census has Alexander and Jane living in Ladock. Also with them was Matilda Truscott, age 16. Alex had advanced from a tiner to an engine driver. It is believed Jane Warne Bone died between 1871 and 1873.

The children of Alexander and Jane Warne Bone:

  1 - Ellen Jane Bone born about 1843 in St Stephen In Brannel parish

  2 - Lucinda Bone was christened the 19th of October 1845 in the same parish. Lucinda married Albert Truscott. He was a blacksmith & an engine fitter and died at the age of 91 years on the 5th of March 1938 in the same parish. It is unknown when Lucinda died. Their children: Fred A. born c1865 at St Stephen In Brannel, George L. c1869 at Ladock, Clara L. c1873 at Sheviock, Mabel c1878 at Sheviock, Frank S. c1880 at Sheviock and Ernest J. c1882 at St. Austell. Lucinda & family were living in Sheviock parish according to the 1871 census, the 1881 census lists them in Church Town St Stephens and by 1891 they were living in Charlestown parish on Lukes Row.

Nothing further is known about this part of Alexander's family.
