Charles was living at Court Mill with the Samuel Lawry household when the 1841 census was taken. Also with him was his older brother William, along with his niece and nephew Fanney and John Bunney. Charles married Mary Ann Westlake the 7th of October 1847. Mary Ann was born about 1827 in Lanlivery parish. The family's location during the 1851 census has not been identified, but they are believed to be living in St. Blazey parish at that time period. Their oldest child, Selina Ann, was christened at St. Blazey the 7th of August, 1850. Their next child, Ellen, was also christened there the 7th of July, 1852. Their third daughter, Elizabeth Anne, was christened July 25, 1854 in the same parish. The 1861 census lists the family as living in New Town, St Blazey parish. Charles' occupation was that of a tin and copper minner. Ellen Bone married William H. Gerrens the 17th of May, 1869 in Glynstaff, Glamorgan, Pontypridd, Wales. William was the son of John and Mary Gerrens. Their children were: Mary Ann born cAug 1869 in Pontypidd, Wales; William John born cNov 1871 Ulverston, Pennington, Cumberland and died in cMay 1872, William John born cMay 1873, same place as previous Wm. John, and died cFeb 1913 in Lanchester, County Durham; Joseph Henry born cFeb 1876 in Whitehaven, County Cumberland and died in 1956 at Durham; Charles (Jr.) born 6 Jan 1878 at Whitehaven, Cumberland and died 29 Aug 1943 at Keepers Cottage, Ramsden Heath, Essex; John born cMay 1880 at Whitehaven and died in 1902 at Lanchester; Ellen born cSept 1882 at Whitehaven and may have died in 1899 at Marlebone in London; and Samuel born cNov 1884 and died in 1885 at Whitehaven. Charles (Jr.) is the line in which we connect to Frederick Charles Talbot Gerrans. Charles Bone, wife Mary A., Ellen and Elizabeth A. were living at 31 Fox Street, Pennington, Cumberland (now Cumbria), England when the 1871 census was taken. Charles is listed as an iron miner. It is unknown why Ellen was listed as being with her parents as she had married in 1869. It is possible she was there in anticipation of giving birth to her son William John. She is not listed as a Gerrens, but as a Bone. But, where is her husband William and daughter Mary Ann? What happened to Selina Anne Bone? This family should not be confused with that of the Charles Bone, age 29, living in St. Austell parish during 1871. His wife was also named Mary Ann. The 1881 census has Charles Bone and family living at 192 Main Street, Whitehaven, Cumberland, England. During Fred's research he was unable to locate William Henry and Ellen Bone Gerrens. Joseph H. Gerrens married Mary Rogers and her sister, Margaraet Ann married Charles Gerrens. Charles and Margaret Ann were married October 24, 1908 in Lanchester, County Durham.
