The following Pinch Will was transcribed by Margaret Galt and is listed here with her permission.

THIS IS THE LAST WILL AND TESTAMENT of me George Pinch of the parish of St Stephens in Brannell in the county of Cornwall, Yeoman.

I will that my just debts and funeral expenses be paid.

I give to my Granddaughter Georgiana ten pounds to be paid to her when and if she shall attain the age of twenty one years or be married.

I give to my Grandson Thomas Norman Martyn five pounds when and if he shall attain the age of twenty one years.

I give to Mary the wife of Joseph Tucker (daughter of Elizabeth Burkey) of the same parish one Guinea.

I give and devise to my Daughter Philadelphia an annuity or (?) yearly rent charge of three pounds to be payable and paid to her during her natural life out of my freehold messuage & tenement called Moonsdale in the said parish with power to distrain for the recovery thereof as in cases of nonpayment of rent.

I give and devise unto and to the use of my four Daughters Jane, Eliza, Sophia Trethewy and Arabella Burgoyne in equal shares and to their heirs and assigns for ever as tenants in common my said freehold messuage and tenement called Moondale withethe heredits and appurts thereunto belonging (subject nevertheless to the annuity of three pounds charged thereon as aforesaid and subject also to this restriction that my said last mentioned four Devisees shall not cut and carry off therefrom more than four waggon loads of Turf in any one year and which shall be equally divided between them) and from and immediately after the death of either of my last mentioned four Daughters as to the share of such daughter so dying to the use of all and every child and children of such Daughter their heirs and assigns for ever in equal shares and proportions as tenants in common and if but one such child then to the use of such one child his or her heirs and assigns for ever and if such child or children should die under twenty one years of age and without having lawful issue or such Daughter should having no child or children then the share of such Daughter or Grandchild so dying shall be held by my surviving Daughters to whom I have given the said (?).

And it is my will that the said Annuity to my Daughter Philadelphia and bequest to my last mentioned four Daughters Jane, Eliza, Sophia Trethewy, and Arabella Burgoyne be held by them respectively for their separate use and benefit according to the tenor of this my Will independently of any husband or husbands to whom they are or may be married and without being subject in anywise to their debts couteout(?)or engagements. And that the receipts of my said Daughters notwithstanding their respective covertures(?) shall be good and effectual release and discharges for the same.

I give to my Daughters Jane and Eliza share and share alike as tenants in common my household messuage and tenement called Century and Egloshelleous now in my occupation and also all my shop goods household furniture and wearing apparel which shall be remaining in my dwellinghouse at the time of my demise.

All the Rest and Residue and Remainder of my estate and effects both real and personal goods and chattels rights and credits of what nature or kind soever I give devise and bequeath the same unto and to the use of my said daughter Jane, Eliza, Sophia Trethewy and Arabella Burgoyne share and share alike as tenants in common and I nominate and appoint my said daughters Jane and Eliza Executuxes in trust of this my will with power to retain and satisfy to themselves all lawful expenses attending to the execution of the trusts hereby in them reposed.

And I revoke all former wills by me made.

In witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand and seal the fourth day of August one thousand eight hundred and thirty six. GEORGE PINCH.

Signed sealed published and declared by the within named Testor George Pinch as and for his last will and Testament in the presense of us what at his request in his presence and in the presence of each other have hereunto subscribed our names as witnesses. Walter Pomery, Elizth Pomery, E Main.

Proved at London 30 March 1840 before the Judge by the Oath of Jane Pinch and Eliza Pinch Spinsters the Daughters the Executixes to whom admon was granted having been first sworn by Comon(?) duly to adm.
