|
Countryside Idyll 1936
|
This snapshot was taken about two years before Hitler made an end with Austria, which then
became the socalled 'Ostmark'. Times were pretty rough, with a slumping economy, wide-spread
unemployment and a semi-fascistic single-party regime ruling. This picture looks like taken
in the early afternoon. To the left it shows my grandfather - who was born on a neighboring
farm - and grandmother together with a friend of the family and the daughter of the house,
my 1C 1R. I called her aunt, nevertheless. None of those four is living anymore.
If you would like to show one of your pictures here, please contact
