Christian Edward Brendel married Caroline Rebecca Burt/Burk . Their marriage bond of Forsyth County dated 3 July 1850. Rebecca Brendel died Feb. 1860 according to mortality census of l860 Forsyth. The children were apprenticed/bound out in l861. I do not know to whom or if girls names changed.

By then Edward had married Julia Christina Hege 14 Feb l86l is date of the Forsyth County marriage bond. Edward Brendel/Brandel enlisted in CSA in Green County, VA in 1863. He served in Co. B, 9 Batt'n NC Sharp Shooters until they surrendered at Appamatox, Va (Compiled Confederate Service Records).

The years between l860 and l880 are blank concerning these children. Edward and Rebecca Brindle are listed on William T. Brindle's Davie County, NC marriage of l Feb l880, Rebecca dead and Ed Brindle living in Davidson. I do not know when or where Edward died or if there were other children by marriage 2 to Julia Hege or 3 to Cornelia Hege in l878.

William T (Thomas?) Brindle married Louisa Mandora (Dora) Orrell l Feb 1880 in Davie County. William said he was 26 years old which jives with the l860 Forsyth census, his tombstone has him much older, believe 14 Oct l853 to be correct. William was a blacksmith and lived near the railroad tracks in Advance, NC (my mother Amanda Brindle Humphrey remembered visiting there and watching him work). In 1910 he owned his blacksmith shop near Advance and was the father of l3 children. Nine of them survived to adulthood.

13 Charlie Edward Brindle, born 27 Dec 1901, died in Cooleemee, NC 12 Dec l966, buried in Advance UMC in Davie County. Spouse: Mary Belle McIntyre, l child Charlie Edward Brindle, Jr. of Cooleemee. John Lafayette Brindle was my grandfather, He was born 13 January 1887 in Davie County, NC. He married Lillie Belva Groce of Yadkin County, daughter of Isaac S Groce and Amanda Elisabeth Hoots in Cooleemee, NC 27 May 1908. He died 18 March 1878 in Cabarrus County and is buried with lst wife Lillie in Deep Creek Baptist Church Cem in Yadkin County, NC. He was short, prematurely white hair and bright twinkling blue eyes. He worked all his adult life in textiles mostly in Kannapolis, NC for Cannon Mills Company.

1 Amanda Mae Brindle was born 29 April 1909 in Davie County, married 2 July 1933 Ernest H Humphrey in Kannapolis, NC, died l9 February 1992 in Cabarrus County. This was my mother.
2 Sadie Mozelle Brindle was born 12 May 1913 in Davie County and married 20 April 1935 in Kannapolis, NC Guss R Cole. She died 4 March 1991 in Cabarrus County.
3 Isaac Lafayette Brindle was born 29 July 1915 in Cabarrus County, married 30 June 1934 Kathryn Elizabeth Lewis in Kannapolis, NC, died 23 August 1965 in Cabarrus County.
4 Frank Blaine Brindle was born 1 April 1918 in Kannapolis, NC, married in Rowan County Edith Elizabeth Jacks and died 23 October 1972 in Cabarrus County, NC.
5 Lloyd John Henry Brindle b 22 March 1921 in Kannapolis, NC., married 20 March 1937 in York, SC Johnsie Louise Baldwin, died 25 Nov l993 in Kannapolis, NC.
6 Carl Anderson Brindle b 15 March 1924 in Kannapolis, married Annie Louise Lambert 24 Dec 1941, and died 23 Dec 1957 in Kannapolis, NC.
7 Helen Belva Brindle was born 25 May 1928 in Kannapolis, NC, married 3 May 1946 Edley Arlen Cochran and died 29 March 1954 in Cabarrus County, NC.
