Waldo Family Stories

Leaving his house Wednesay afternoon, David Waldo, 55, 724 S. Fifth St., disappeared and has not been found since, members of his family reported to police yesterday. Hospitals and morgues in the city report no trace of him.
Waldo was in gook health and apparently in good spirits when he left the house, according to Mrs. John Waldo, who lived at the same address. He had no money with him, relatives said.
He was wearing khaki breeches, black overcoat, soft hat and dark blue shirt. He had gray hair and blue eyes, according to the description funished by his family.
No reason for his disappearance could be given by members of the family yesterday. The fact that he carried no money discredited a robbery or murder theory, and he scarcely could have left the city, his relatives say. Search at the homes of other relatives in Columbus also revealed no trace of the man. It is thought he may be a victim of amnesia and is wandering about the city unable to remeber his home or name.

   Search of hospitals and other institutions of Columbus by police and members of his family fails to reveal any trace of David Waldo, 65, who disappeared from his home, 724 S. Fifth St., Feb. 1. His entire family, consisting of wife, seven daughters and two boys have been conducting the search, it was said yesterday.

    Each of the children of the missing man has visited the home here since the father disappeared. It developed yesterday that Mr. Waldo had mailed a letter given to him to be mailed the day he diappeared. The letter was received by the addressee, one of the daughters. That, thus far, is the last trace of him that has been unearthed.
