Parish & Non-Conformist Registers

Church of England. Parish Church of St. Lawrence, Measham
According to Phillimore's Atlas & Index of Parish Registers, the Anglican registers for Measham parish as far back as 1681 have survived.  They have been deposited at the Leicestershire County Record Office.  Microfilm copies for the period 1681-1880 are also available for ordering via local LDS Family History Centres.  Coverage by the Bishop's Transcripts goes back even further, to 1662, although these are held at the Lichfield Joint Record Office.  They have also been filmed by the LDS church.

The following complete census records of Measham parish for the period 1841 to 1891 have been transcribed by a volunteer who wishes to remain anonymous.  However, I would like to express my sincere appreciation for the hard work she has put in to it, and for her kind contribution of this resource to the collection in these South Derbyshire web pages.  The records will, I'm sure, be used by many researchers around the world.
