The following complete census
records of Measham parish for the period 1841 to 1891 have been transcribed
by a volunteer who wishes to remain anonymous. However, I would like
to express my sincere appreciation for the hard work she has put in to
it, and for her kind contribution of this resource to the collection in
these South Derbyshire web pages. The records will, I'm sure, be
used by many researchers around the world.
Simon Marchini's page has
a comprehensive history of Measham, from pre-Roman times to c1300.
A little before most of us can trace our ancestry, but very interesting,
nevertheless.
