I am a direct descendent of Gov. John Adair. I have wonderful records that were compiled in 1925 into a book on the Adair line. It is published today by the Southern Historical Press, Easley, SC. 1-803-859-2346. Ck the area code. I do not know if it has changed. John Adair, the son of the Gov. was born 8-8-1808. He married Mary Ann Dickerson in 1834. Had 8 daughter and three son, was a lawyer, and died in Astoria, Oregon in 1888. Gov. Adair's dauhter Eliza Palmer Adair married Thomas Bell Monroe. I descend through that part of the line. Let me know if this helps. Linda
