This information is extracted from the website referenced herein. It has been too long since anyone has bothered to put this information on a forum:

The family that concerns me the most is James Davis, Jr, and Martha Ligon, which has often been attached to by those who have not been able to find this information so easily which would have corrected their researches.

Nancy Davis, dau of James, Jr and Martha was the wife of William Bridges. They were the parents of Ambrose Davis Bridges. Martha married Caleb Hall after the death of James, Jr.

Barbara:

I am descended from Leonard Hall and Joanna Letton.

I descend through Caleb Hall, Sr., of Bourbon County, KY, proof: Copies
of Real Estate transactions there regarding property that belonged to
Leonard Hall. Caleb Hall, Sr., was married three times, the first wife
is unknown and she was the mother of my Caleb Hall, Jr. The Elizabeth
Mastin that Caleb, Sr. married in Bedford was a widow. Her surname was
Forqueran. Caleb, Sr., and Daniel Boone surveyed land in Kentucky for
Leonard Hall. After Elizabeth died, Caleb, Sr., married a third time and
this was who he was married to when he died and probably why his other
children were not mentioned in his will. I do know that he had a son,
Mahlon.

Caleb Hall, Jr., lived in Henderson County, KY, as an adult and with him
for a while was his brother, Mahlon, that I believe moved to Illinois.
Caleb, Jr., married a widow, Martha 'Patsy' (Ligon) Davis and they spent
their lives in Hopkins County, KY, where Martha 'Patsy' was a charter
member of the Grapevine Christian Church where she and Caleb, Jr., are
buried. Caleb, Jr., was quite successful in Hopkins County, KY. I then
lose the Hall name, being from their daughter, Elizabeth, that married
Turner O'Bryan.

Unless I have made a typographical error, all of the above information
is correct. I have been to Bedford County, Virginia, and copied the Hall
records that are in the Courthouse there. I went to a Historical Society
there and they gave me some hints as to who Leonard 's parents were. On
this forum, I do not want to say. Contact me personally if you would
like to get that information from me.

I look forward to hearing from you and hope that finally we can solve
the Hall riddle.

Also, a book, very well documented was written about Leonard Hall's
life, a copy I saw in Frankfort, Kentucky, that has everything in it
very well documented.

Sincerely,

Jennie O'Connor Magan

Hello:

There were two Caleb Halls. The first one was Caleb Hall, son of Leonard
Hall and Johanna Letton. He is the one that married Elizabeth
(Forqueran) Mastin in 1756 in Bedford County, Virginia. Their son, Caleb
Hall was born in 1758 and he married Martha "Patsy" (Ligon) Davis in
1802 in Henderson County, Kentucky.

Caleb, Sr., and wife Elizabeth lived in Bourbon County, Kentucky. They
both died there. Elizabeth's father died there in 1798.

Caleb, Jr., and wife, Martha "Patsy" lived after 1807 in Hopkins County,
Kentucky, where both of them died and are buried in Madisonville,
Hopkins County, Kentucky.

I had to pack up my genealogy records for a short time or I would have
the dates, etc.

Please contact me if you would like more information.

How are you related to me? Caleb, Jr. is my 3rd great grandfather. My
family generations have about 40 years between each so I go back quickly.

Sincerely,

Jennie O'Connor Magan

John:

It is wonderful to know that there is another person out there that is
interested in Martha "Patsy" Ligon. I am descended from her second
marriage to Caleb Hall, Jr.

In a Hopkins County, Kentucky, History book that I saw in our local
library, A Hall family from Madisonville, KY, stated that Martha "Patsy"
Ligon was descended from a Thomas and Ann Ligon. I have since searched
and searched for a connection to the Virginia Ligons.

I have copies of the originals that I will document below, the
information that I have on Martha "Patsy," as follows:

MERCER COUNTY, KENTUCKY COURT ORDER BOOK #1, 1786-1790, AUGUST 25TH,
1795, PAGE 186: "Deed of gift to James Davis, Jr., by Thomas Legin. Was
proven by Charles Webber and James Davis, Sr."

the road in repair. Includes a list of many men and James Davis, James
Davis, Jr., Harrison Davis, several other surnames mentioned."

April 28, 1834, Martha (Patsy) Ligon Davis Hall was a charter member of

Have Martha Legin marrying James Davis on June 21, 1795 Minister Rice in
Mercer County Ky. (I think it is KY register volume 15 but not sure of
volume) I also know that in Mercer Co. Records there is a deed of a gift
to James Davis Jr. from Thomas Legin. My friend is making a copy of the
volumes and page numbers. I will list them as soon as I receive them.
Hope that this helps. Pat
