Henry Bristol (ca. 1625-1695) emigrated from England and settled at New Haven, Connecticut. He married twice and was the father of twelve children, 1649-1683. Descendants listed lived in Connecticut, New York, Pennsylvania, Illinois, Ohio, Michigan, and elsewhere.

BRISTOLS IN THE REVOLUTION, THE FRENCH and INDIAN WAR, THE CIVIL WAR and other military records:
Many people are able to join the prestigeous DAR or SAR by tracing their ancestry to a specific Bristol whose Revolutionary War service is a matter of record. BFA files show at least 35 of Henry Bristol's descendents served in the Revolution, and 22 are currently registered with the DAR.
