I began researching the Scotts of Emanuel County, Georgia in 1990 when my husband’s Many of Britton and Nancy Scott's descendants still live in Emanuel County and I maintain a database of many more Scott descendants than those documented here.
According to census records, Britton was born between 1795 -1801 in Georgia. An old Scott family Bible contains the following entry: "Britton Scott, son of Britton married (1) Nancy Price Oct. 15, 1816 in Emanuel County, Georgia. Britton and Nancy had 10 children. Their sons were William (who died in infancy), Britton's second wife was Sophia Atkinson. They had no children together. Though I have found little information about Britton and Nancy's Britton's eldest son Jesse did not fight in the Civil War for reasons unknown to me.
