David S. Hutchi(n)son is mentioned the 1853 LWT of John Knox, b. 1777: “3rd I give and bequeath to my Daughter Mary B. Smith One Note on David S. Hutchinson for the amount of One hundred Dollars”

 

He was the son of Cyrus and Mary Ann (Cross).  His wife, Dorcas Elizabeth Alexander, was the niece of Polly B. (Robison) Knox.  Dorcas' mother was Elizabeth Robison (III) who m. Elias Alexander after his first wife's (Dorcas Amelia Alexander) death.

Frasure [Joseph Addison Fraser], sureties, which bond was approved by Court, whereupon she was qualified according to Law.

“In the name of God Amen.  I, John Knox, of the County of Mecklenburg and State of North Carolina being of health of body and sound and disposing mind do on this 25th day of June in the year of our Lord one Thousand eight Hundred and Fifty Three (1853) do make and declare and establish this as my last will and Testament in manner and form following

 

1st I give and bequeath to my wife Mary B. Knox a Negro woman named Milly three cows and calves one bed and furnature the Gray Horse called Crocket one Beaureaw the chars belong to the house & Table and all the Kitchen furnature

 

2nd I give and bequeath to my Eldest Son, Robert J Wilson One Hundred and Twenty Six Acres of Land Known by the name of the BLAKELY PLACE place on the which he now lives and has a deed for the same, a Horse Saddle & Bridle a bed which he has received and my old wagon which he also has in possession

 

3rd I give and bequeath to my Daughter Mary B. Smith One Note on DAVID S. HUTCHINSON for the amount of One hundred Dollars.......”

No record found for David or Dorcus Hutchison (or variants) or Cynthia Robison (or variants...however, David and Cynthia are both buried at Sugaw Creek and did not die until after the 1860 Census, so they must be there...and somehow missed.

I will to my wife Dorcas Elizabeth [Alexander] Hutchison, during her lifetime, my plantation, and at her death it is to descend to my son Joseph R. Hutchison.  I also will to my wife, during her lifetime, my slaves Hal, Edger, Cinda, and Adaline, and at a her death they are to be divided equally between my son Joseph and my dau Mary;  Joseph is also to have the slave Hannah, and Mary the slave Jane.  All the remainder of my estate is for the use of my wife during her lifetime, and at her death it is to be divided equally between my two children.  My wife’s aunt CYNTHIA H. ROBISON is to be supported from my estae during her lifetime.
