Obituary of Guy Buckner
18 May 1904, Clark County (IL) Herald
Guy Buckner was born March 17, 1886, and departed this life May
14, 1904 at his Orange township, aged 18 years, 1 month and 27
days. The funeral was held Sunday at Wesley chapel Rev. T. C.
Bailiff officiating. Interment was in the cemetery nearby. He
leaves a father and mother, 1 brother and 5 sisters to mourn
his demise. He was a young man highly respected by all who
knew him. He made his aim high in the world. He was an
attentive scholar at school and had completed the branches of
the common school. He had attended one term at the Westfield
college where he was converted. He had been sick ever since he
came home but bore his suffering with patience and expressed
willingness to go Home. There was a large attendance at the
funeral and the floral tributes were very beautiful. We extend
our sincere sympathy to the grief stricken family.
