Will of Horace Buckner

Will Book 1, Pages 53, 54 & 55

Green County Court House, Greensburg, Ky.

In the name of God, amen, I Horace Buckner of the county of Green, of state of Kentucky; being weak of body, but of perfect sense and memory, do make, constitute, and ordain this my last will and testament , evoking all heretofore by me made, and do acknowledge this to be my last will and testament.

Imprimise, it is my desire that my brother, William Buckner, have one hundred pounds out of the lands which I received from my father's estate lying in Kentucky, or out of my brother Thomas Buckner's part of l and that I purchased of him, being one third of the same land left by my father which money I owed to him in consequence of his paying that sum for the land which I now live on, now if the land which my brother William Buckner shall take after it is valued by good disinterested men, shall be taken from

him by a prior or better claim, then in that case, the money to be returned with from this date.

Then, it is my desire that all my stock of every kind together with all my household and kitchen furniture, and my crop now made, be sold and the money applied toward the discharge of my legal debts one bed and furniture to be excepted and reserved for my sons William [Aylett] Buckner and John T. Buckner.

Item, it is my desire all the residue of my estate of every sort and kind after all my legal debts are paid, to be equally divided be tween my two sons William (A.) Buckner and John T. Buckner when my eldest son shall come to full age, to them and their heirs forever, and it is further my desire that my executor

hereafter named shall sell if they find it necessary any of my outstanding lands, that is, them which I received of my father's estate or my brother Thomas's part, and convey the same to the purchaser, and that my other executor convey the lands which my brother William Buckner will get for the money I owe him, and lastly, I do appoint my friends William Buckner and John Y. Taylor my sole executors in this my last will.

In testimony whereof I have hereunto set my hand and seal this tenth day of December, 1810. The words to them and their heirs forever, enterlined before I signed.
