In
the name of God Amen I Mary Crutchfield of the State of North
Carolina of the County of Chatham being weak in body but sound
and disposing mind and understanding considering the certainty of
my death
and
the uncertainty of life the time there for to the end that I may
be the better prepared to leave this world when it shall please
my God to call me home have now determined to make what
dispositions shall be made of my property after my decease and
after Maturily considering the circumstances and consideration of
all those around whom as my heirs at law or the object of my
gratitude or affection in my judgement my estate should be
distributed. I do make publicly and declare this to be my last
will and testament hereby revoking all other will and testament
by me heretofore made.
Item
1st: And my will is first that after my decease my body shall be
decently buried without any unnecessary expense and that my
funeral charges and just debts shall be paid by my executor
hereafter named and with my property with which God has blessed
me and which shall not be
required
for the payments debts funeral charges and expense in and about
the executions of this my will and the administration of my
estate I give and desire and dispose of them as follows to wit.
Item
3rd: I give and devise to my beloved daughter Mariah Crutchfield
and Hanah Crutchfield all of my estate both real and personal and
I ____? of which I shall be sized[?] and possesser at the time of
my
decease
to my daughters Mariah and Hanna Crutchfield to have and to hold
the same to them and their heirs executioners and administrators
and payment to them and their use and behalf forever and I
nominate and appoint my son in law Eli Buckner to be the sole
executor of this my last will and testament in witness where of I
the said Mary Crutchfield do hereunto set my hand and seal this 8th
day of March AD 1877 signed sealed and published and declared by
the same Mary Crutchfield to be her last will and testament in
the presence of us who at her request and in her presence do
subscribe our names at witnesses thereunto.
