I W. S. Buckner of the County of Green and State of Kentucky made
& ordain this my last will and test ament in manner following.
Viz:
Item first I give to my daughter Julia L. Clark wife of William
Clark my undivided one eighth interest in the tract of land on
which I now reside, and Known as the home place Containing acres
be the home more or less to be for her sole separate use and
benefit and not t o be subject to any debt or liability of her
said land(?) which may not exist, or which may hereafter be
created, but hold own and Control the same during her natural
life and at her death to be Equally divided amongst her Children.
I also give my said daughter Julia L. Clark bed bedstead &
beding which now i s in the room called the Parlor at
my Present residence, and the pay of all my just debts and
funeral expenses will to my said daughter Julia L. Clark the
yellow horse (house?) which if I have enough personal property to
pay my said debts.

to be sold, I also give said daughter Julia L. Clark one red Cow
Called heifer if the is not required to pay my said debts and
funeral expenses that all th e property herein willed and given
to my said daughter Julia L. Clark be delivered to her as soon
after my death can be done.
Item second I will and give to my son H. S. Buckner the which I
hold on him for land which I sold and delivered to him Viz.
" one note fore $63.33« dated 31st July, 18-- and due 12
months after date, also one other note for $63.33« dated 31st
July 1894, a nd due the 1st day of _______ 1896, also one other
note for $63.33« dated 31st July, 1894(?), and due the 31st July
1897. I also give to my said son H. S. Buckner my gold watch. I
also give to my Son H. S. Buckner one cow, bed, beds tead and
beding if there is enough of my Personal Property to Pay my debts
an d funeral expenses without selling Cow & bed.
Item third If there is enough Personal Property belonging to my
estate to pay my just debts and funeral expenses without selling
my gray horse and not having before disposed of at my death, I
will and give to my daughter Vellotta B. Clark Wife of George R.
C lark, said gray horse and one bed and bedding.
Item Fourth Whereas Lucy E. Moody & Ann E. Pendleton (my
daughters) under the provisions of the will of my wife and their
mother Mary W. Buckner and through their said husbands have
received a Sum much larger than any other of the children of my
Self & wife except John A. Buckner (my Son) including the
property herein disposed of and given my other Children I hereby
direct that the Said Lucy E. Moody and the Children of Ann E.
Pendleton Shall not have or receive any Part of my estate eather
[sic] real or Personal owned by me at my death.
Item Fifth My Son John A. Buckner having heretofore under the
Provisions of the will of his Said Mother Mary W. Buckner
received more than my other children Julia L. Clark Horace S.
Buckner or Vallotta Clark, I will and herein direct that he have
no Portion of my Estate either real or Personal belonging to me
at my death.
Item Sixth The Children of my deceased daughter Alberta L. D.
Shirly not h aving received as much property or money under the
provisions of the will of my said wife Mary W. Buckner as would
make them equal with Lucy E. Moody, Ann E . Pendleton & John
A. Buckner, I request my Son Horace S. Buckner and my Sons in
laws George & William Clark to see that Said Children of my
Said daughter Alberta L. D. Shirly are made equal with them in
the distribution of the estate of my deceased wife Mary W.
Buckner.

Codicil
I, W. S. Buckner, do hereby make this Codicil to be added to my
last will and testament in manner following
Viz." I Give and bequeath to my daughter Julia L. Clark one
Cherry Bureau. I also give to my daughter Julia L. Clark my
Family Record. I desire and Give all my Clothes to be Equally
divided between my daughters Julia L. Clark and Vellotta B. Clark
and Horace S. Buckner, my Son. I desire my library to be Equally
divided between my two Daughters Julia L. Clark and Velotta B.
Clark and my Son Horace S. Buckner. I desire and give my Heavy
Buggy to my daughter Velottie B. Clark. I desire and give my
Light Buggie to my daughter Julia L. Clark. I desire that my
daughter Vellottie B. Clark have my Cherry Press. I desire that
my daughter Velotta B. Clark have one of my Tables. I desire that
my daughter Julia L. Clark also have one of my Tables and I
desire that my Son Horace S. Buckner have one of my Tables. I
have one male Berkshire hog and one Poland China Sow and four
Pigs which I desire my daughter Velottie Clark to have half of
Said hogs, and the other half to be Equally divided between my
daughter Julia L. Clark and my Son Horace S. Buckner. I also have
21 twenty one head of (beef? which I desire they be Equally
divided among my three Children Velottie B. Clark Julia L. Clark
and Horace S. Buckner to be divided or sold as they may think
best. I desire that my daughter Velottie B. Clark have my _______
[illegible]. I desire that Julia L. Clark have my Large Cherry
Press. I hold $45.00 against my Soninlaw George B. Clark which I
desire my Daughter Velottie B. Clark to have one half of said
debt, and I desire that my daughter Julia L. Clark have the other
half of said debt. I hold ?5.00 against my son Horace S. Buckner
which I desire my Daughter Julia L. Clark have one half
of said amount. I give the other half to my Son Horace S. Buckner.
I have four head of Cattle which I desire to go to the Payment of
my Just debts and funeral Expenses are paid the remainder be
Equally divided between my three Children Velottie B. Clark Julia
L. Clark and Horace S. Buckner in witness whereof I have hereunto
Set my hand this June 25th 1898.

Charles M. Buckner
At a County Court held for Green County at the Court house in
Greensburg Ky. on the 12th day of September 1898, the foregoing
instrument or writing purportively to be the last will and
codicil thereto of W. S. Buckner Decd. was produced into open
court, and fully proven to be Said will by the oaths of D. J.
Lowles and E. M. Blakeman subscribing witnesses to Said will who
after being duly sworn Stated that the Said W. S. Buckner Signed
Said will and acknowledged the Same to be his last Will and
Testament in their presence, and that they Signed the Same as
witnesses in his Presence, and in the Presence of each other, and
that they believed him to have been of Sound mind and disposing
memory at the time of executing and giving the Same, and over
twenty one years of age.
-nd Said Codicil to Said will was fully Proven by the oaths of S.
C. Blakeman and Charles M. Buckner the subscribing witnesses
thereto who after being duly Sworn Stated that Said W. S. Buckner
Signed and acknowledged Said will imparting (?) to be a Codicil
to Said will in their Presence, and Signed the Same as witnesses
in his Presence and in Presence of each other, and that they
believed him to have been of sound mind and disposing memory at
the time of execution and Signing the Same, and over twenty
one years of age. It was therefore ordered by the Court that Said
will and Codicil attached thereto be established and that the
Same be recorded as the last will and Testament and Codiciled of
W. S. Buckner Decd. which is here duly done in office, this 13th
day of September, 1898.
