The pictures on this page were taken in the summer of 1927 somewhere in Rogers County, probably near Verdigris, Oklahoma.  It seems to be a group outing of some sort consisting of  young people and chaperones. Dave Carpenter and Maggie McCaskey were my parents and these pictures were taken several months or a year before their marriage.  My mother gave me some information and I have listed the names she mentioned but would sure like to add more names if anyone could supply them. . . . jim

This is Dave Carpenter and Maggie McCaskey, probably shortly before they were married. Taken same day as photo on right and below.  Location is somewhere in Rogers County, Oklahoma. Dave Carpenter and Maggie McCaskey, are seated in front row, far left. Back row far left is Archie Phillips; Third from left is Roger Purkey.  Others are unknown.

Same group as above right but with Dave and Maggie missing and one man added.  Dave or Maggie  probably took the picture . . . or maybe it required both of them.  I think the girl standing on the car is Vera Fisher [Purkey] but she won't admit it.  Archie Phillips is in front, far left and Roger Purkey is back row center.  Others unknown.  Any information would be appreciated.  Send me an E-mail at the address at top of home page.

1. DAVID ALGIE (DAVE)3 CARPENTER, SR. (AMOS PITTS2, JAMES ANDERSON1) was born January 13, 1908 in Four miles N. of Okmulgee, Oklahoma, and died April 02, 1962 in Claremore, Oklahoma. He married MAGGIE MAY MCCASKEY September 10, 1927 in Claremore, Oklahoma (Rogers county), daughter of CHARLES MCCASKEY and MARTHA COBB. She was born May 23, 1910 in Clio, Texas (Brown County), and died October 18, 1985 in Claremore, Oklahoma.
