Robert and Temperance migrated to Kentucky in 1940. They lived across the road from John D. Johnson and Polly Lilly Kent. Robert died and Polly died. John married Temperance.

Several years ago, Mrs. W. D. Cox of Amherst Va, sent Mr. A. Kent ---- The description of a tract of land containing 300 acres, that John Johnson, SW --- son of Walter Johnson 1773-1825 - as Guardian for his nephews bought for them about 1843 from Robert Baskett (Brother of Jesse Baskett and Sarah Baskett Kent).

This land was divided equally between his nephews, John T. Kent and Walter J. Kent. It lay West and Northwest of their deceased father’s holdings.

John Johnson must have been quite a prominent man of affairs. He became Guardian for many, was executor of his father’s estate (Walter Leake Johnson) and joint executor of his father-in-law, John Kent’s (Andrew Kent’s great grandfather) estate and many others. He did not marry until past 40.

His first wife was Nancy Kent married in 1829. She was born in 1800, died 1838. (Andrew Kent says in (Ruth Snead that she died between 1841 and 1847)Their only daughter, "Cousin Kitty" (Andrew’s) died 1904, unmarried.

John Johnson and Polly (Nancy) Kent (born in 1803) had four children. Rebecca, Martin and Nannie) After Poly (Nancy) died, John married Temperance Omohundro, widow to Wiliam Spottswood Kent in Kentucky

John or "Jack" Johnson’s brother, William Leake Johnson was Andrew Kent’s mother’s great grandfather.
