Feb. 3, 1843
In pursuance of an order of the County Court of Fluvanna bearing the date 23rd Day of Jan. 1843, we the undersigned commissioners proceeded to lay off and assign to Archibald Thomas and Mary, his Wife, late Mary Kent, Widow of James T. Kent deceased, the dower rights of said, Mary, in land and negros whereof the said James Kent died.
150 a. of Land, including Eastern Room of Dwelling House, above and below stairs and Eastern end or Porch, the Smoke House, Kitchen, and part of Negro Cabins, with the privilege of using the Spring and the following Slaves

Slaves inherited from daughter Lucy Ann Kent. Harriet and child Lucy Ann $550.00 less $8.88 to John and $44.44 to Walter
We then divided the rest of the Land equally between John Tate Kent and his brother Walter J. Kent.
Lot No. 1 was drawn by John T. Kent, containing 100 acres, including the Western Rooms in the Dwelling House, above and below the stairs, Western end of Porch, Tobacco Houses, part of Negro Cabins, with the privilege of using the Spring, and the following Slaves

Inheritance from sister Lucy Ann Jackson $200.00 - James $150.00, Eliza and child Harrison $150.00 plus $8.33 from his mother, Mary Thomas.
Lot No 2 was drawn by widow Mary Kent who had married A. Thomas.
Lot No. 3 was drawn by Walter J. Kent, containing 115 acres of Land, Old Dwelling House, Corn Houses, Stables, and Barns and the privilege of using the Spring, and the following Negros.

Inheritance from sister, Lucy Ann, Young Sam $500.00 plus $33.33 from his mother Mary Kent Thomas.
Lucy Ann Kent, daughter of James Kent and Mary Johnson Kent, died in infancy. Her mother, Mary Kent and brother, John T. Kent and Walter J. Kent, were heirs to the following Negros.
Harriet and child, Lucy Ann allotted to Mary Thomas at $550.00, she paying John Kent $8.33 and Walter Kent $33.33.
Jackson $200. James Tate $150.00 Eliza and child, Harrison $150.00. were allotted to John T. Kent with Mary Thomas paying him . $8.33.
Young Sam rated at $500.00 was allotted to Walter J. Kent and received from Mary Thomas $33.33 as above. All of which is respectively submitted to the Court, given under our hand, the 3rd day of Feb. 1843

Walter Leake Johnson Will - July 23, 1825. Mary Johnson Kent inherited from her father, Walter Leake Johnson, one Negro woman, by the name of Eliza and her three children, and at the death of her mother, Margaret, her equal share of all his Estate.
