(Andrew Kent writes to Ruth Alfreda Blair Snead)
Mary Woodson descended from this Woodson Line Dr. John Woodson born 1583, came to Virginia in 1618, with his young wife, as a physician to the Colony. One record says that he was killed in the Indian massacre of 1622. They had two sons, Richard and John Woodson. All the Woodsons in Virginia are descendants of these two sons. Several of their sons are mentioned as married, but their wives or descendant’s names are not given. It is possible that Mary Woodson was a granddaughter of one of these. Dr. John Woodson was a graduate of Oxford University, England.
