James Fisher
James Fisher was
born about 1782, where is not clear at this time as souces suggest either
Connecicut or New York. We do know he was living in Wawarsing, Ulster County,
New York from 1820 - 1850. After that point he lived in Sullivan County, I am
supposing he died before 1860 as he is not listed in the census. He
married Charlotte about 1810. His son Joseph is my direct
ancestor.

1) Joseph: Joseph was born about 1814, probably in
Ulster County New York, he married Phebe Tarkett, For more information on this

2) Peter was born April 7, 1815 in Ulster, New York
and died in Sullivan County in 1902. He married Elizabeth Rundle in 1840 and
they had the following children: Mary E (1841-1901), William J (abt 1842), Joel
A. (abt 1843), Ruth A (abt 1845), Charles w (abt 1850), Theresa (abt 1852),
Alice (abt 1855), Harriet (abt 1857) and george (1860).
3) Ira was born August 12, 1817 in Ulster County
New York and died in 1885 in Sullivan, Thompson County, New York. He married
Sarah M Demaerset in 1839. They had the following children: John (abt 1841), Ira
James (1842-1871), Juliette (abt 1846), Joseph L (1845), Silas D (abt 1851),
Johnathan E (abt 1854), Hila (abt 1856), Malica (1859), and William (1862). Ira
served in the Civil war for both the 143rd New York Infantry and the 3rd
Veterans Corp.
