Nicholson was born in April 1849 in Maryland . I do not know who his
parents are at this time. Before 1870 he moved to Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. It
is here he married Amelia
Thomas
, in February of 1870. Joseph and
Amelia had ten children five which survived according to the 1910 census. Their
son Joseph is my direct ancestor. Joseph rented various houses in the
Philadelphia area throughout his life. He was a carpenter by trade. Both he and
his wife Amelia died in Philadelphia before 1930.

1880.
Before 1918 he moved to Wilmington Delaware. His wife's name was
Susanna.

Nicholson: Ella was born in Philadelphia on February,1882.
4) John A: John was born
in January of 1887.
5) Walter G: Walter was
born February 18, 1889 and died May 15,1967.
He married Mary Gallagher.
6) John Frederick Nicholson was born May 29, 1885
in Philadelphia.
