Caldwell County lies in the western part of Kentucky, with gently rolling hills, woodlands small streams and brooks, trickling here and there.
Anyone driving down the Western Ky Parkway towards the Caldwell County line can quickly see why our ancestors decided to make their homes there.
Caldwell County has many cemeteries, some well maintained, some totally destroyed from time and the elements or from uncaring people.
Here we will present some of the cemeteries and a few of the churches in Caldwell County, Kentucky and surrounding areas.
More will be added as time permits
If you would like to contribute information on a church or a cemetery please contact

Leonard Hankins was my great uncle. He was arrested and convicted of robbing a bank and the murder
of two policemen and a passerby in Minnesota.
He spent 19 years in prison before being proved innocent and released. Here is his story.
The Leonard Hankins Story
Melinda (Cherry) Childress was my g g grandmother.
When the Cherokee were removed from their homes to Oklahoma, one group of Cherokee people
traveled through Caldwell Co., Ky.
Many were sick and died along the way.
I believe many were left behind thinking they too would soon die .
Melinda was one of those left behind, thinking she would not live.
She was left with the Joseph & Mary Cherry family in Caldwell Co., Ky.
To see photos of Melinda and read her story.
