Graves of Lester & Eliza Ann (Doley/Dawley) Caples
Myrtle Hill Cemetery, Syracuse, New York (2001).
Lester Caples was born October 2, 1837, in Mallory, Oswego County, New York, and died in Syracuse, New York on November 8, 1916 at age 79.  Eliza Ann (Doley/Dawley) Caples was born in August 1836 and died July 29, 1902 in Syracuse, New York at age 66.
According to the cemetery administrator (April 2001 phone interview), Lester bought six graves in this plot (Lot B Block 20) on July 11, 1881, only four of which are occupied, and none of which are marked.  They are located in the open area of this photograph between the road and the fence.  The other two graves are each occupied by an infant.  One of the infants died, unnamed, March 4, 1918 at Crouse-Irving Memorial Hospital. His death record revealed that his parents were Lawrence and Marie (McManus) Capels.  The other infant, named George Caples, was stillborn on December 29, 1932, with a place of residence listed as the town of Schroeppel.   His death certificate and the identity of his parents have not yet been found.
