Mary Shupe's obituary cites Joseph Shupe as her long-deceased husband. While her certificate of death, February, 1919, lists her as a widow, it also lists her FATHER as Joseph Shupe, born in Penna. Could it be that her father and her husband were both named Joseph Shupe? Might Mrs. Joseph L. Harris, their daughter who provided the information to the Registrar, have been thinking of her OWN father when the question was asked? Mary Shupe's mother's last name (no first name listed) was provided as SHANER, also born in Penna. Cause of death is listed as "general paralysis." Mrs. Joseph L.
