Banks
twp., CARBON
COUNTY
1875
Audenried and Yorktown began as two mining patch towns that grew together. Today’s maps identify the location as Audenried. Situated at the western most point of Carbon Co., these were company towns in the truest sense. The Luzerne and Schuylkill County borders were adjacent to the village, and a few things appear across the border in Schuylkill Co., which is why I added the “County” column. Very few surnames appear on the map, nearly all the buildings were company owned.
