A little something to entertain you

Howdy, my name is Nicole Carr, and I am the oldest of two daughters of Robert and Doris (Loffer) McMullen. To start off, I should say that I have only REALLY been interested in genealogy for about a year and a half, since my last child was born. When I bought a baby book for her, it included a page to fill in her family tree. After I finished the 4 generations, I wondered how far back I could really go, and the rest, was history. History in general has always interested me, and I always enjoyed hearing stories about "The Good Old Days" from my grandparents, but it wasn't until we got a computer that the real world of genealogy was opened to me.

I was born and raised in Kearney, Nebraska, and lived there until March of 1997, when my husband took a career change and we moved to Northcentral Wisconsin. So, all of my paths lead to Buffalo County, the south-western part of the county, in particular. Three of my four grandparents, and four of my eight great-grandparents were born there. Many aunts, uncles, cousins, and in-laws have also been born, raised, married, had children and died there. It seems that every time I go back home, I run into someone that I am related to no matter where I go.

Since I am relatively new at this, my site is somewhat small, and pertains to only a few of the masses of researchers that are out there. That is something I hope to change. In just my first year, I have already compiled quite a bit of information on people that ended up not being related to me. That is particularly true of the Brown and Wilson surnames. Someday I hope to list everything I have acquired so others may request and view the documents and information.
