            In the name of God, amen, I John Andrew of Caroline County in the state of Maryland, being of sound and perfect disposing mind and memory, blessed be God, but calling to mind the mortaility of my body and knowing it is appointed for all men once to die, and in order to settle the small estate God in his great mercy and goodness hath been pleased to bestow upon me, do make this my last will and testament in manner and form following, viz;
           Imprimis, I resign my soul to Almighty God my creator, hoping the merits of my blessed Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ to obtain the remission and forgiveness of my sins and the salvation for my immortal soul, and as to my worldly estate God in his mercy hath been pleased to bestow upon me, I dispose of the same in manner and form following.
First, my will is that all my just and lawfull debts be duly paid and satisfied to my creditors.
          Secondly, I give and bequeath to my beloved wife Sarah Andrew the free use and possession of one third part of all my estate, real and personal, during her natural life, and after her decease to be divided in manner and form hereafter mentioned, to them and each of them, or those who lawfully represent them or each of them forever.
         Thirdly, I give and bequeath to my son Isaac Andrew one hundred acres of land whereon my son Isaac Andrew now dwelleth on, being part of a tract of land called and known by the name of "Mary's Lott" to him and his heirs and assigns forever.
Fourthly, I give and bequeath to my son William Andrew my dwelling plantation whereon I now dwell, together with all my lands not heretofore by me given, to him his heirs and assigns forever.
        Fifthly, I give and bequeath unto my eight grand children John Covey, Elizabeth Covey, James Covey, Matthew Covey, Jacob Covey, Thomas Covey, Andrew Covey and Sarah Covey one eight part of all my personal estate, to be equally divided between them and when either of them dies their portion, share or shares, part or parts, so by me devised, then to be equally divided between the survivors or survivor of my said grand children and of my daughter Sarah Covey.
       Sixthly, I give and bequeath unto eight grand children, John Andrew, David Andrew, Edward Andrew, Levcy Andrew, Samuel Andrew, Elijah Andrew, Sarah Andrew (and) Henry Andrew another eight part of all my personal estate, to be equally divided between them, and when either of them dies theirs proportion, share or shares, part or parts, so by me devised them, to be equally divided between the survivors or survivor of my said grand children, children of my son John Andrew.
      Seventhly, I give and bequeath to my six children, namely Samuel, Isaac, and William Andrew and my daughters Jane Collins, Esther Stafford and Nancy Collins all the remaining six eight parts of my personal estate not before by me given and disposed of, to be equally divided between them and each of them, theirs heirs and assigns forever.
       Lastly, I do hereby (revoke) all other or former wills by me made. In witness whereof I have set my hand and affixed my seal this fifteenth day of January in the year of our God, Seventeen hundred and eighty five.
