In the Name of God I Harmon Johnson of Dorchester County in the Province of Maryland, planter, being weak in Body but of sound Mind and Memory, blessed be God for it. I Do this day of August of August One Thousand Seven hundred and fifty three I make this my last Will and Testament In manner following, that is to say. Imprimis I Give and Bequeath to my son James Johnson my dwelling plantation and Land thereunto belonging and piece of Land lying on the South West Side of the said plantation, called Fortune. I also Give and Bequeath unto my son Cornelius Johnson my other plantation with the Land thereunto belonging Called Nottenham and also Sixty Acres Called Rouge Beguild. I also give and Bequeath unto my three Daughters Naomi Johnson, Mary Johnson and Turphena Johnson One hundred and Seventy Acres of Land Called Johnsons Adventure To Be Equally divided between the three. I also Give and Bequeath to Daughter Sarah Johnson a piece of of (sic) Land lying between the Fork of the Roads and the Huckel Berry prong Running with the road near to Ezekiel Causey's. I also give and Bequeath to my Son James Johnson One Negro Boy Pomp. I also give and Bequeath to my Son Cornelius Johnson One Negro Boy Joe. I also give and Bequeath to my Daughters Philadelphia Johnson, Catheren Johnson, Easther Johnson, Margrett Johnson (and) Elizabeth Johnson three Negro Girls Suee and Tamar and Rose and their Increase to be Equally divided between the five. I also Give and Bequeath to my loving Wife Philadelphia Johnson One Negro Wench Flora and her Increase and Also I leave the rest of my Goods and Chattles wherewith I am now porsest (sic) to be Equally divided amongst my Children after my Debts are paid. I make, Constitute and Ordain my Good and Loving Wife Philadelphia Johnson and my Son James Johnson to be my Executrix and Executor In trust for my Children. In Witness whereof I the said Harman Johnson have hereunto set my hand and Seal this 27th Day of agt. (sic) Anno Dom 1753.

On the 19th day of October 1753 Joshua Wheeler and Curtis Beauchamp the Subscribing Witnesses to the foregoing Will being duly and Solemnly sworn on the holy Evangels of Almighty God Depose and say that they saw the Testator Harman Johnson sign the foregoing Will and heard him Publish and declare the same to be his Last Will and Testament and that at the time of his so doing he was to the best of their apprehension of sound and disposing Mind and Memory and that they subscribed their Respective Names as Witnesses to the said Will in the Presence of the said Testator and at his Request.
