State of Maryland to Wit, In the name of God, amen, I Michael Todd of Caroline County being weak in body but of sound mind memory doth make and ordaine this to be my last will and testament in the folowing manner as follows.
Item, I give and bequeath unto my son Nathan Todd one hundred and three acres of land, the place whereon he now liveth, according to a division made by Levin Todd, to him and his heirs forever.
Item, I give and bequeath unto my son David Todd the land whereon he now lives to him and his heirs forever.
Item, I give and bequeath unto my son Michael Todd all that land whereon he now lives, being one hundred and one acres, to him and his heirs forever.
Item, I give and bequeath unto my son Levin Todd all the land whereon he now lives lying in Sussex county, the land which I bought of Isaiah Starling, and seven acres of land taken up by a ground warrant on the east side of Wilson's Swamp, to him and his heirs forever.
Item, I give and bequeath unto my son William Todd all the land I bought of John Robinson that lies in Sussex county, to him and his heirs forever.
Item, I give and bequeath unto my son James Todd all that part of my dwelling plantation that lies to the eastward of division drawn west by south, six perchs (____) the end of the second course of the land called Todds Venture then ____ south twenty four degrees, east two hundred and twenty four perches then south thirty degrees, east eighty two perches to a pegg by the side of a cart road formerly called Richards cart road, and likewise ten acres of the land called Robinhood to be laid of a _____ south end of the said land. I also leave my son James one fifth part of my apples which my orchard may bear, for the term of four years, provided he helps to keep the orchard in repair, I give the said land to him and his heirs forever.
Item, I give and bequeath unto my son Benjamin Todd all the land in my dwelling plantation and all the land adjoining the same, except the land I have already given to my sons Nathan and James, to him and his heirs forever.
Item, I give and bequeath unto my daughter Phebe Hubbart ten pounds cash or specie.
Item, I give and bequeath unto my daughter Rhodah Beacham fifty pounds cash.
Item, I give and bequeath unto my daughter Mary Beacham five pounds cash, my daughters to be paid as soon as the money is collected after my decease.
Item, I give and bequeath unto my beloved wife Mary Todd the sum of (Forty?) pounds cash and the third part of all my estate except the money that is ______ _____ obligations, I give it to her during her natural life, my will is that the remainder part of my estate to be equally divided amongst all my children, that is to say (what?) is not already given and after my wifes decease that which is left to be equally divided amongst all my children.
I also nominate and appoint my two sons Nathan Todd and Levin Todd to be my hole and sole executors and unto this my last will and testament revoking and disannulling all other wills hereto made by me. In witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand and seal this tenth day of June Eighteen hundred and two.
