I William Powell of the County of Kent in the State of Delaware being aged and weak in body but of a sound disposing minde and memory and being desireous to dispose of what it hath pleaseth God to Commit to my Disposeal do make and Ordain this my last will and Testament in manner and form following (that is to say) first my will is that my son John Powell shall have all that Parcel of Land and Premises which I conveyed to him by a Deed of Gift Dated the 2nd month 15th 1793 which deed I hereby Ratify and confirm to the true Intent and meaning thereof to him his heirs and Assigns for ever under the Incumberance mentioned in said Deed which is on half reserved to the use of my Wife during our natural lives which half I give unto my Wife Martha during her Natural life. Secondly I give and bequeath unto my two Sons Mark & Jonathan Powell the lands and appertenances belonging thereto which lies within the following metes and bounds Viz Beginning at the most Southwestermost bounds of the same and in line of land Called Watry Plains and Running from thence with the original lines of Land called Solomons Seal untill (it) comes to the land I deeded to my Son John aforesaid then with the same on the reverse of three Courses to a Small Locust tree and from thence to the beginning, to be equally Divided between them Quantity and quality considered, to them the said Mark Powell and Jonathan Powell their Heirs and Assigns forever. Thirdly I give and bequeath unto my Wife Martha One third part of my personal Estate and I Give and bequeath unto my Several Children namely, Owen and Joseph Powell, Elizabeth Williams, Mary Nickerson, Joanna Green, Racheal Jarrell, the sum of two Shillings to each of them, I Give and bequeath unto my two daughters Sarah Powell & Ann Powell the sum of Thirty five pounds, and all the Remainder of my Estate both Reail and personal I Give and bequeath unto my three Sons Namely John Powell, Mark Powell and Jonathan Powell to them their Heirs and assigns to be equally divided between them and lastly I do hereby nominate Constitute and appoint my son John Powell whole and Sole Executor of this my last Will and Testament In Witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand and affixed my Seal this 25th day of the 4th month 1803.
