The Carr Port

Includes related surnames: Batterton, Blodgett, Brown, Hagge, Klein, Lange, McMullen, Payne, Rakestraw, Sanders, and Stieb.

I can take the Carr line back to Charles S. Carr, b. about 1853 in Ohio, and his wife Lydia (Unknown), b. about 1855 in Ohio.  In the 1880 census Charles, Lydia, and a 10-month-old William were living in Fairbury, Nebraska.  Charles was a merchant.  I do not know where Charles or Lydia died or are buried. 

Their son, William, married Mary E. Blodgett, and the couple had 6 children:

1.        William Thomas, b. October 25, 1904; died in infancy.

2.       Margaret, b. February 25, 1906.

3.       William Richard, b. January 22, 1912.

4.       Robert M., b. June 26, 1914; d. April 3, 2001.  Married Elizabeth Stieb.

5.       Beulah, b. about 1920.

6.       Clyde, b. July 7, 1923; d. May 1978.

Robert M. Carr married Elizabeth Stieb January 28, 1936 in Lexington, Nebraska.  They had 7 children:

1.        Robert Andrew Carr, married Delores Marie Hagge

2.       Mary Kathleen Carr, married Milo Klein

3.       Alfred Lee Carr, married Carol Jean Rakestraw

4.       Joseph Lee Carr, married Kathy Brown

5.       Rose Helen Carr, married a Payne

6.       Joanne Marie Carr, married

7.       Peter Edward Carr, married Ruth Agnes Lange.
