Annie LaBrensz, 94, Lodi, Calif., formerly Kulm, N.D., died Thursday, Dec. 22, 2005, at Lodi.

Annie Wolf was born Aug. 19, 1911, in New Leipzig, N.D., the daughter of Jacob and Maria (Wutzke) Wolf. The family moved to a farm northwest of New Leipzig when she was a few years old. At the age of 10 the family moved to the farm where she grew up near McLaughlin, S.D. She married Edward L. "Joe" LaBrensz of Fredonia, N.D., on June 26, 1932, at Fredonia. They farmed near Fredonia until 1945 when they moved to Kulm. After he died on March 23, 1963, she worked for Kulm Drug until it closed in 1972. She then moved to Lodi and worked for F. W. Woolworth for five years, Alexander Bakery for seven years, and Veinna Rest Home until she retired in 1994. She was a lifelong member of the Lutheran Church, Missouri Synod. She enjoyed quilting, cooking and travel.

She is survived by two sons, Jimmie Allen (DeAnna), Talent, Ore., and Charles Edward (Robin), Pinole, Calif.; two brothers, Wally, Leadville, Colo., and Alfred, Shawnee, Okla.; two sisters, Irene Taplin, Peoria, Ariz., and Evelyn Cash, Raphine, Va.; two grandchildren; and two great-grandsons.

She was preceded in death by her husband; four brothers, Herbert, Herman, Jacob Jr. and Donald; five sisters, Ida Hertel, Olga Leeper, Dorthy Kirschman, Frieda Klug, and Esther Banek.

Graveside service: 11 a.m. Tuesday, Kulm Congregational Cemetery, Kulm. Arrangements by Dahlstrom Funeral Home, Kulm.

November 24, 2004

John (Johnnie) Lachenmeier, 86, Cleveland, died Mon., November 15, 2004 in the SCCI Hospital in Mandan. Funeral services were Thursday in St. Paul's United Methodist Church in Jamestown. Interment was made in the Streeter City Cemetery.

John Lachenmeier was born August 30, 1918, 14 miles east of Napoleon in Logan County, the son of August and Christina (Becker) Lachenmeier. He received his elementary education in Logan County Schools. He worked as a farmhand for farms in the Streeter-Napoleon vicinity. He and Edna Strehle were married November 6, 1945 at Streeter.

James J. Laeger, 74, Kulm, N.D., died Tuesday, May 3, 2005, at his home.

Mr. Laeger was born June 13, 1930, in rural Dickey County near Kulm, N.D., the son of August and Helena (Hildebrand) Laeger.  He grew up on the family farm and received his education in rural German Township schools. He lived and farmed with his family.  He married Alice McCone on June 12, 1955, at Mandan, N.D. They lived and farmed on the Laeger family farm until they retired in 1993. He farmed with his son, Don, after he retired. He was a member of Kulm Methodist Church, where he also served on the church board.  He had been a member of a barbershop quartet and bowling team.  He served on the FHA Board for a number of years, Farm Bureau Board for several years, was a 4-H leader for many years and served on the lumberyard board. He enjoyed fishing, music and dancing.

He is survived by his wife; two sons, Jerry (Carla), Bismarck, N.D., and Don (Tam), Fredonia, N.D., a daughter, MaryAlice (Jeff) Laeger-Hagemeister, Albert Lea, Minn.; a sister, Bernice Gackle, Kulm; and six grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents. 

Services: 10:30 a.m. today, First Congregational Church, Kulm. Arrangements by Dahlstrom Funeral Home, Kulm.
Burial: Kulm Congregational Cemetery, Kulm.

Lenora Landgren, 84, Everett, Wash., formerly Gackle, N.D., and Jamestown, died May 7, 2002.

She is survived by a son, Jay David (Roberta), Anchorage, Alaska; two sisters, Leuvina Remboldt and Lavern (Bill) Doph, both Everett; and a brother-in-law, Ben Kirstein, Everett.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Dr. Clarence Landgren in 1973; her mother, Lydia Labrensz; father, Reinhold Labrensz; and a sister, Alice Kirstein.

Memorial service: held May 11, South Everett Community Church (formerly, Temple Baptist Church), West Everett, Wash.

Adam A. Lang, 91, Dunseith, N.D., formerly Gackle, N.D., died Monday, Oct. 27, 2003, at Dunseith.

Mr. Lang was born Feb. 15, 1912, in Gackle, the son of Gottlieb and Christina (Martel) Lang. He attended school in Gackle and the Seventh-day Adventist Academy at Harvey. He married Charlotte Hewitt in 1934. He taught school in several towns surrounding Dunseith. He then farmed in the area.

He is survived by two sons, Duwayne, Juneau, Alaska, and Dwight, Tucson, Ariz.; two sisters, Leah Jerke, Gackle, and Esther Ovik, Minnesota; and a grandson.

He was preceded in death by his parents and wife.

Services: Saturday, Nov. 1, Nero Funeral Home Chapel, Bottineau, N.D., with Pastor Veldee Hightower officiating.
Burial: Oak Creek Cemetery, Bottineau.

Barbara Lang, 87, Streeter, N.D., died Friday, Dec. 8, 2000, at Napoleon (N.D.) Care Center.

Barbara Miller was born March 28, 1913, near Streeter, the daughter of Fredrich and Mary Miller. She grew up and received her elementary education in the local rural school in Streeter. She married Edwin Lang Dec. 9, 1938, at Jamestown. They lived on his father's farm eight miles south of Streeter, which they bought in 1939. In 1986 they moved into Streeter. In June 2000, she entered the Napoleon Care Center. She was a member of St. Lukes Lutheran Church, Streeter.

She is survived by her husband; two sons, Norman, Mesa, Ariz., and Kenneth (Karen), Streeter; a daughter, Marlys Lang, Minneapolis, Minn.; and five grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, four brothers and four sisters.

Services: 10:30 a.m. Monday, Dec. 11, St. Lukes Lutheran Church, Streeter, with the Rev. Robert Pestal officiating. Arrangements by Haut Funeral Homes, Gackle, N.D.
Burial: Streeter City Cemetery, Streeter.

Mrs. Gottlieb Lang, Gackle Pioneer, Dies in California

Mrs. Christine Lang, 94, wife of the late Gottlieb Lang, died Friday at her home in Galt, Calif. A pioneer resident of Gackle community, Mrs. Lang had resided in Galt for the past 12 years.

Funeral services will be Thursday at 2 p.m. in the Seventh-day Adventist Church in Gackle with Pastor Edward J. Kanna officiating. Burial will be in the Gackle cemetery with the Haut Funeral Home, Gackle, in charge of arrangements.

Mrs. Lang, the former Christine Martel, was born Dec. 13, 1874, at Kassel, Russia, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Karl Martel. She attended school in her native land and was married there to Gottlieb Lang on Feb. 12, 1896. The family came to the United States in 1903 when they settled on a farm homestead one-half mile northeast of Gackle in Stutsman County. They continued to farm until 1936 when they moved into Gackle for their retirement. Following the death of her husband on Aug. 5, 1957, Mrs. Lang remained for a short time, moving to California in the fall of the same year. She was a member of the Gackle Seventh-day Adventist Church.

Survivors include three sons, Adam Lang, Dunseith, Gust G. Lang, Lincoln, Neb., and Jakie Lang, Bridgeport, Wash.; four daughters, Mrs. P. B. Wagner (Lydia), Galt, Calif., Mrs. George Romanski (Ruth), Silver Lake, Minn., Mrs. Alfred Ovick (Esther), Minneapolis, Minn., and Mrs. John Jerke (Leah), Alfred, N.D.; 17 grandchildren and 19 greatgrandchildren.

Besides her husband, she was preceded in death by two sons, one daughter, her parents, two brothers and four sisters.

Clarence Lang, 70, Mesa, died Aug. 1, 1996, in Raton, N.M.

Mr. Lang was born Sept. 14, 1925, near Gackle, N.D., where he grew up and attended school. He served with the U.S. Army from 1946 to 1947. On July 4, 1952, he married Viola Diede in Beach, N.D. They farmed near Jamestown, N.D. In 1986 they moved to Mesa. She died in 1989.

He is survived by a son, Terry (Kayla), Mesa; a daughter, Clareen (Rodney) Schmidt, Chandler, Ariz.; his mother, Emma S. Lang, Jamestown; two brothers, Elroy and Marvin, both Jamestown; and two grandchildren. Visitation: Today from 9 to 9 in the funeral home and one hour before the ...

Edwin Lang, 85, Napoleon, died Sunday, Jan. 6, 2002, in Napoleon Care Center.

Mr. Lang was born May 28, 1916, in Streeter, N.D., where he grew up and attended school. He married Barbara Miller Dec. 9, 1938, in Jamestown, N.D. They farmed near Streeter until 1986, when they moved into Streeter and later entered the nursing home. She died in 2000.

He is survived by two sons, Norman, Mesa, Ariz., Kenneth (Karen), Streeter; a daughter, Marlys Lang, Minneapolis; a sister, Leona Weisser, Hardin, Mont.; and five grandchildren.

Visitation: Today from 9-9, with a prayer service at 7, in Haut Funeral Home, Gackle, N.D., and one hour before the funeral in the church.

Emma S. Lang, 98, Jamestown, N.D., died Sunday, May 11, 1997, in Hi Acres Manor, Jamestown.

Emma Haas was born Nov. 27, 1898, in Venturia, N.D., where she grew up and attended school. On March 23, 1924, she married Fred S. Lang in Jamestown. They farmed near Gackle, N.D., until 1952 when they retired and moved into Gackle. He died in 1971. She moved in 1979 to Jamestown. She had been a resident of Hi Acres Manor since 1995.

She is survived by two sons, ElRoy (Maxine), Marvin (Olga), both Jamestown; five grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. ...

Esther Lang, 72, Napoleon, N.D., died Wednesday, Sept. 4, 2002, at Napoleon Care Center.

Esther Melva Geist was born Aug. 31, 1930, near Tappen, N.D., the daughter of August and Beatrice (Reuer) Giest. She grew up and attended school in the Tappen area. She married Rueben Lang on Oct. 30, 1949, at Peace Lutheran Church, Napoleon. They lived on the Lang homestead, where she raised a family and helped with farming. In 1979 she started working as a certified nursing assistant at the Napoleon Care Center. She enjoyed gardening, crocheting, playing cards and cooking.

She is survived by her husband; a son, Terry, Fargo, N.D.; three daughters, Julie (Ron) Mattern and Kim (Troy) Woodworth, both Bismarck, N.D., and Sandi Meyers, Beulah, N.D.; a brother, Melvin, Napoleon; two stepbrothers, Art Walker, Fargo, and Dennis Rau; three stepsisters, Erna Headland, Medina, N.D., Irene Schock and Loretta Wieland, both Modesto, Calif.; and eight grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her father, mother, an infant brother, two stepfathers, a stepsister and a stepbrother.

Services: 10:30 a.m. Saturday, Trinity Lutheran Church, Napoleon, with the Rev. Richard Hagestuen officiating.
Visitation: 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. today, Dahlstrom Funeral Home, Napoleon, and one hour before services at the church.
Burial: Napoleon City Cemetery, Napoleon.

Fred W. Lang, 95, Napoleon, N.D., died Tuesday, Oct. 5, 2004, at the Napoleon Care Center, Napoleon, N.D.

Mr. Lang was born July 24, 1909, at the Lang homestead near Tappen, N.D., the son of Benjamin and Elizabeth (Kirchenman) Lang. He grew up and attended rural school near there. He married Tillie Becker on Oct. 5, 1933, on the Lang homestead. They moved to the farm northeast of Napoleon, where they still lived until the time of his death. He enjoyed farming and was still moving hay in July of this year. He was an active member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Napoleon, serving as Building Fund treasurer for many years. He enjoyed walking and gardening. He played harmonica.

He is survived by his wife; two sons, Allen A., Bismarck, N.D., and Floyd, Napoleon; two daughters, Bernice (Floyd) Brenner, Kewaskum, Wis., and Shirley (Milton) Wagner, Bismarck; seven grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers and three sisters.

Services: 10:30 a.m. Saturday, Trinity Lutheran Church, Napoleon.
Visitation: 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. today, Dahlstrom Funeral Home, Napoleon.
Burial: Napoleon City Cemetery, Napoleon.

Frieda Lang, 85, Jamestown, died Monday, Oct. 25, 1999, at Hi-Acres Manor Nursing Center, Jamestown.

Frieda Grabinske was born Feb. 6, 1914, at Robinson, N.D., the daughter of Reinhold and Mollie Grabinske. She attended the local rural school, where she received her elementary education and grew up in the vicinity. She married Rudolph Lang Aug. 15, 1933, in Jamestown. They lived on farms in the vicinity northeast of Gackle, N.D. In 1968 they moved to Medina, N.D., where he worked for area farmers until 1979 when they moved to Gackle. In fall 1983 they moved to Jamestown. He died in 1985. In June 1995 she entered Hi-Acres Manor, Jamestown. She was a member of the Seventh-Day Adventist Church.

She is survived by two sons, Erwin, Billings, Mont., and Duane, Jamestown; a daughter, LaVern (Roni) Allen, Wichita, Kan.; two brothers, Ray, Tucson, Ariz., and Rueben, Lodi, Calif.; three sisters, Emelia Randall, Robinson, N.D., Lou Dietrich and Pat Bruno, both Sacramento, Calif.; eight grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, her parents, a daughter, a brother and two sisters.

Services: 11 a.m. Thursday, Oct. 28, Seventh-Day Adventist Church, Jamestown, with the Rev. Joshua Marcoe officiating.

GOTTLIEB F. LANG OF GACKLE DIES FRIDAY

The death of Gottlieb F. Lang of Gackle occurred at the Trinity hospital here Friday, the cause of death being given as rupture appendix. The deceased, who was twenty-six years of age, was born in Russia. The funeral services will be held at Gackle.

The funeral for Gustave Lang, 92, Jamestown, N.D., will be at 10:30 Tuesday in the Seventh-day Adventist Church, Jamestown. Visitation will be in Eddy Funeral Home, Jamestown; from 1 to 9 Sunday, from 9 to 9 Monday and one hour before services in the church. He died Thursday, May 2, 1991.

Mr. Lang was born Nov. 6, 1898, in Russia. In 1904 he moved to the United States with his family and they settled in the Gackle, N.D. area, where he attended school. He married Maria Miller March 3, 1921, in Streeter, N.D. They farmed in the Gackle area until 1936, when they moved to Jamestown. While living in Jamestown he worked for the Works Progress Administration and the North Dakota State Hospital. He later worked for the railroad until retiring. His wife died in 1988 and in 1989 he became a resident of the Central Dakota Village in Jamestown.

He is survived by two sons, Edwin, Lincoln, Neb.; and Marvin, Novato, Calif.; three daughters, Mollie (Mrs. Clarence) Kurtz, Santa Rosa, Calif.; and Artena (Mrs. Harold) Schlaht and Elsie (Mrs. Ruben) Kreil, both Jamestown; 11 grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren.

The funeral for Gustave (Gust) Lang, 92, Jamestown, will be at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at the Seventh-day Adventist Church, Jamestown. Interment will be in Highland Home Cemetery. Visitation is from 1 to 9 p.m. Sunday; 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Monday at the Eddy Funeral Home; and one hour before services at the church. He died Thursday, May 2, 1991.

Mr. Lang was born Nov. 6, 1898, in South Russia, the son of Frederick and Christina (Wahl) Lang. At the age of 6 he came to the United States with his parents and settled near Gackle. He received his education in the rural Gackle schools. He married Maria Miller on March 3, 1921, at Streeter. They famed in the Gackle area until 1936 when they moved to Jamestown. He worked for the WPA and the State Hospital. He later worked for the railroad and retired due to ill health. She died in 1988. In 1989 he moved to the Central Dakota Village. He was a member of the Seventh-day Adventist Church.

Survivors include three daughters, Mollie Kurtz, Santa, Calif.; Artena Schlaht, and Elsie Kreil, both Jamestown; one son, Edwin, Lincoln, Neb.; one adopted son, Marvin, Novato, Calif.; 11 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren.

Gust S. Lang, 65, longtime resident of the Gackle and Alfred community died Monday morning, December 25, 1967at the Jamestown Hospital in Jamestown, N.D., where he had been hospitalized intermittently due to illness during the past year.

He was born June 9, 1902, in South Russia, the son of Simon Lang and Elizabeth Reich Lang. At the age of nine months in 1903, he came with his parents to the United States where they homesteaded on a farm nine and one-half miles northeast of Gackle in Stutsman County. He attended the local rural school and grew to manhood in the vicinity where he worked on his parents farm.

On March 20, 1924, he and Lydia Reuer were married in Gackle, N.D. They farmed northeast of Gackle until 1928, when they moved into Alfred, where he entered the hardware business, which he sold in 1947. He returned to working his farming interests, which he maintained until retiring in 1966. Following his marriage to Elizabeth Koenig on June 30, 1953 at LaMoure, N.D. They made their home in Alfred to the present time.

He was active in community affairs serving on the Glenn Township Board, Deputy County Sheriff of LaMoure County, served on the local school boards, and was a member of Skelly Oil Company Board of Directors in Alfred.

Surviving are his wife, four children, Irene (Mrs. Jacob Krause), Burnett Lang, both of Alfred, N.D.; Ella (Mrs. Peter Strusis) South Tahoe Lake, Calif.; Ruby (Mrs. Jerry Noble), Lodi, Calif.; nine grandchildren, seven brothers and sisters, Dora (Mrs. Emanuel Obenauer), Medina, N.D.; Fred S. Lang, Leah (Mrs. Emil Schweigert), Gackle, N.D.; Rudolph S. Lang, Alfred, N.D.; Pauline (Mrs. Otto Haack), Jamestown, N.D.; Martha (Mrs. Jahn Hammerstrom) Minneapolis, Minn.

He was preceded in death by his parents and two sisters.

The funeral service was at 2:00 p.m. Thursday, December 28, 1967 at the First Congregation United Church of Christ in Gackle with Rev. Edward Eslinger, pastor, officiating. Burial was in the Alfred Cemetery.

The Haut Funeral Home in Gackle was in charge of arrangements.

Helen Lang, 86, Jamestown, N.D. died Thursday, June 10, 1999, in Central Dakota Village, Jamestown.

Helen Remboldt was born May 10, 1913, near Sydney, N.D., where she grew up and attended school. On April 22, 1931, she married Fred Lang in Jamestown. They farmed in Gackle, N.D., until 1973. He died in 1975. She entered Gackle Care Center in 1994, and entered the Jamestown nursing home in January.

She is survived by a son, Tyler (Miranda), Bloomer, Wis.; two daughters, Verola (Lyle) Halvorson, Tucson, Ariz., Brenda (Harry) Krause, Alfred, N.D.; a brother, Arthur, Stockton, Calif.; a sister, Christina DeWitt, Gackle; eight grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. ...

Mr. Lang was born June 20, 1907, near Cleveland, where he grew up and attended school. He married Sophia Wohl Nov. 29, 1928, in Jamestown. They farmed near Cleveland until 1951, when they moved into Cleveland. He worked for the city of Cleveland and later owned and operated the Standard Oil station, Cleveland.

Katie Stroh Lang, 86, Steele, died Nov. 1, 1996, in the Steele nursing home. Services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at St. John's Evangelical Lutheran Church, Tappen, with the Rev. William Russow officiating. Burial will be in Fisher Cemetery, Tappen.

Visitation will be from noon-9 p.m. Tuesday at Eastgate Steele Memorial Chapel and will continue at the church one hour before services.

Katie was born July 15, 1910, the daughter of Jacob and Eva Stroh, in Neudorf, Russia. In 1912 she came with her family to the United States and settled in the Tappen area. She married Jake Lang on Nov. 15, 1938, in Steele. They farmed in the Tappen area and lived in Tappen. They were members of St. John's Lutheran Church. Jake died March 6, 1986. She moved to Golden Manor Nursing Home in June 1991.

She is survived by three sons and two daughters-in-law, Darold, Steele, Erwin and Mary Jo, Colorado Springs, Colo., and Melvin and Sherleen, Steele; seven grandchildren, Audrey Lang, Minneapolis, Cory Lang, Bismarck, Melanie Lang, Fargo, Joy Lang, Washington, D.C., Natalie Moch, Anoka, Minn., Michael Lang, Colorado Springs, Loren Lang, Bismarck; two great-grandchildren; two brothers, Rudy, Bismarck, and

Adoph, Jamestown; and two sisters, Leona George and Emma George, both of Jamestown.

She was preceded in death by her daughter-in-law, Myrna Lang.

Katie was a gentle woman who loved her family and her home. Her garden was always large and well tended. She was dearly loved by her family, relatives and friends.

The funeral for Maria Lang, 88, Jamestown, N.D., will be at 10 Monday in Seventh-day Adventist Church, Jamestown. Visitation will be from 9 to 9 Saturday and 1 to 9 Sunday in Eddy Funeral Home, Jamestown, and one hour before services in the church. She died Wednesday in a Jamestown hospital.

Maria Miller was born Aug. 28, 1900, in Streeter, N.D., where she grew up and attended school. On March 3, 1921, she married Gust Lang in Streeter. They farmed near Gackle, N.D., until 1936, when they moved to Jamestown where she worked at Jamestown Restaurant and later at Parkway Cafe. She retired in 1965.

She is survived by her husband; a son, Edwin, Lincoln, Neb.; three daughters, Mollie (Mrs. Clarence) Kurtz, Santa Rosa, Calif.; and Artena (Mrs. Harold) Schlaht and Elsie (Mrs. Ruben) Kriel, both Jamestown; a brother, Emmanuel, Los Angeles; two sisters, Martha Deide, Ashley, N.D.; and Ruth Ranke, Lincoln; 11 grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.

Marvin Lang, 75, Jamestown, died Friday, Sept. 3, 1999, at his home.

Mr. Lang was born Dec. 18, 1923, at the family farm home south of Cleveland, N.D., the son of Fred and Emma (Haas) Lang. He attended the local rural school where he received his elementary education and grew to manhood in the vicinity. He later attended North Dakota State School of Science, Wahpeton. He married Olga Flemmer Oct. 21, 1952, near Streeter, N.D. They lived on a farm 10 miles northeast of Gackle, where they farmed four years until buying a farm 10 miles southwest of Streeter. They farmed there until 1995 when they moved into Jamestown. Shortly after he was diagnosed with cancer. He attended the Seventh-day Adventist Church, Jamestown. He enjoyed collecting toy tractors and going to toy shows and museums in the area.

He is survived by his wife; two sons, Darvin (Elaine), West Fargo, N.D., and Darrell (Carlene), Canon City, Colo.; a daughter, Donna (Ken) Roth, Denver, Colo.; a twin brother, Elroy (Maxine), Jamestown; and three grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; and a brother, Clarence.

Services: 1 p.m. Monday, Sept. 5, Seventh-day Adventist Church, Jamestown, with the Rev. Dennis Kaiser officiating and the Rev. Marty Thurber assisting.

He is survived by six sisters, Hertha Boyko, Donna VanderVorst, Ida Griffith, Esther Lang, Viola Graff and Verna Mae Schaff; and one brother, Ray.

Mrs. Regina Lang, 89, a resident of Jamestown since 1913, died last night at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Caroline Kopp, 905 West Fifth street. She had been seriously ill for about two weeks.

Funeral services will be held Sunday at 3 o'clock at the George Bitz home, followed by rites at 3:30 at the Evangelical church. Interment will be in Highland Home.

Mrs. Lang [nee Grenz] was born January 28, 1849, in Russia, where her marriage to Gottlieb Lang occurred on October 1, 1869 [Oct 10]. They came to the United States in 1903, homesteading near Gackle. Mr. and Mrs Lang moved to Jamestown in 1913, his death occurring here on June 3, 1917 [Jun 2]. Since then Mrs. Lang had made her home with her daughters, Mmes. Kopp, Bitz and Fred Renkert here. Other survivors are a daughter, Mrs. Peter Flemmer, Pettibone, and a brother, Christoph Grentz [Grenz] of California.

Simon Lang, Gackle, retired farmer, died unexpectedly at his home at 5 o'clock this morning [1947] from a heart attack.

Mr. Lang was born at Kassel, Russia, January 6, 1865, and received his education there. Mr. Lang and Miss Elizabeth Reich were married in South Russia February 28, 1883. They came to Stutsman county in 1903 and lived in the county until 1925 when they moved to Gackle. He was a member of the Congregational Church in Gackle.

Survivors are: his widow and the following sons and daughters: Mrs. Phillip Meyer and Mrs. Otto Hack, Jamestown; Mrs. Emmanuel Obenauer, Mrs. August Reich, Medina; Fred, Rudolph, Mrs. Emil Schweigert, Gackle; Gustav, Alfred and Martha at home; two brothers, Fredrick and Gottlieb, Gackle. One daughter preceded her father in death.

Funeral services will be held on Sunday afternoon at the Congregational church, Gackle, with Rev. Walter Kranzler in charge. Burial will be taken from the Eddy Funeral Chapel to the church.

Tillie Lang, 96, Napoleon, N.D., died Wednesday, Nov. 30, 2005, at Napoleon Care Center, Napoleon.

Tillie Becker was born April 24, 1909, near Napoleon, the daughter of Henry H. and Katherina (Kogler) Becker. She grew up and attended rural school at Napoleon. She married Fred W. Lang on Oct. 5, 1933, at the Lang family homestead near Napoleon. They lived on a farm northeast of Napoleon. On Sept. 14, she entered the Napoleon Care Center. She was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church, Napoleon.

She is survived by two sons, Allen A., Bismarck, N.D., and Floyd, Napoleon; two daughters, Bernice (Floyd) Brenner, Kewaskum, Wis., and Shirley (Milton) Wagner, Bismarck; a brother, Edward H. Zimmerman, Jamestown; a sister, Ida Zimmerman, Jamestown; a sister-in-law, Lillian Becker, Fargo, N.D.; seven grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband and a brother, Art.

Services: 10:30 a.m. Monday, Trinity Lutheran Church, Napoleon.
Visitation: 1 to 8 p.m. Sunday, Dahlstrom Funeral Home, Napoleon.
Burial: Napoleon City Cemetery, Napoleon.

Wilmer P. Lang, 84, Bismarck, died Feb. 4, 2000 in a Bismarck hospital.

Services will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday, at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church, with the Rev. Jeff Tengesdal officiating. Burial will be in North Dakota Veterans Cemetery, rural Mandan. Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. Tuesday, at Bismarck Funeral Home, and for one hour prior to the service at the church on Wednesday.

Wilmer was born on Feb. 2, 1916, the son of Carl and Magdalena (Rott) Lang in Denhoff and attended school in McClusky. He served in the Civilian Conservation Corps. Wilmer attended Portland Poly Tech and worked in the Oregon shipyards until entering the US Army on May 7, 1945, with service at Fort Lewis, Wash. After being discharged in 1946, he lived in Portland, Ore. In 1947, he moved to Riverdale, where he was employed by the US Army Corps of Engineers as Maintenance Foreman for 33 years. He was a charter member and twice Commander of the American Legion, Thomas O. Williams Post No. 281 at Riverdale, and served as Fifth District Commander in 1963. He married Audrey Lee on April 18, 1970 at Washburn. They retired to Bismarck in September of 1979. He was a life member of the American Legion, Bismarck Elks, Bismarck Eagles and was also a member of Good Shepherd Lutheran Church, Amvets and NARFE.

He is survived by his wife, Audrey; two sons, Gary and wife, Betty Lee, Minot, and George "Bud" Lee, Burbank, Calif.; one daughter, Kim Lee, St. Paul, Minn.; two granddaughters, Karen and husband Paul Prout, Wahpeton, and Linda Lee, Minot; four sisters, ElVerna DuVall, Azalea, Ore., Lillian and Wes Miller, Bernyce Koenig, all of Las Vegas, Nev., and Florence and Al Jesser, Bozeman, Mont.; two brothers, Warren and Martha Lang, Minot, and Jack and Hazel Lang, Jacksonville, Fla.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his first wife, Clara Olson; two brothers, George and Harris; and two sisters, Olivia Helm and Eunice Klimpel. (Bismarck Funeral Home)

Arberdella “Arby” Lanning, 67, Jamestown, died Friday, May 20, 2005, at Jamestown Hospital, Jamestown.

Arberdella Schultz was born April 19, 1938, at Gackle, N.D., the daughter of Fred and Martha (Schock) Schultz. She attended school and grew up in the area. She married Ray Fox on Feb. 27, 1959, at Napoleon, N.D.  They later lived in Maryland.  She married Paul Lanning on Dec. 21, 1962, at Aberdeen, S.D. They lived in Jamestown.  In 1966, they moved to California.  She then attended college and graduated as a certified dental assistant.  She later moved back to Jamestown, where she enjoyed bingo, crafts and having coffee.

She is survived by three daughters, LaRae Boyer and Mary Jo Dillingham, both Jamestown, and Dawn (Tom) Rost, Devils Lake, N.D.; a son, Scott Lanning, Jamestown; a brother, LeRoy “Buddy,” Fargo, N.D.; six grandchildren; and a great-granddaughter.

She was preceded in death by her parents and two brothers, Merrill and Elmer.

Services Pending For Miss Larson

Darlene Donna Larson, age 9 years, a lifelong resident of Gackle, North Dakota Community died Monday afternoon July 15, 1968 at the Gackle Hospital in Gackle, where she had been admitted as a patient earlier the same day.

She was born November 6, 1958 at Jamestown, North Dakota, the daughter of Orville Larson and Violet Kalmbach Larson. She had been a student at the Gackle Public School, where she had completed the second grade this year.

Surviving are her parents, three brothers, Larry Loren 8, Gary Elmer 6, and Dale Albert 9 months, her paternal grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Victor Larson, Jamestown, N.D., her maternal grandmother Mrs. Amelia Kalmbach, Kulm, N.D.

She was preceded in death by her maternal grandfather, Albert Kalmbach.

Service For Miss Larson

The funeral service for Darlene Donna Larson, Gackle, North Dakota, was held Friday. July 19, 1968 at the Assembly of God Church in Kulm, North Dakota with Rev. LeRoy Johnson, pastor, officiating. Mrs. LeRoy Johnson played a program of organ music as friends assembled and left the church, "Under His Wings" was sung by a duet, Stanley Johnson and Mrs. Don Erickson. "Jesus Loves Me" was sung by Mrs. Rolland Sjostrom, Mrs. LeRoy Johnson played the entire accompaniment.

The pallbearers were Bertel Bjur, John Erickson, Lloyd Anderson, and Lorence Holmgren.

Burial was made in the Assembly of God Cemetery at Kulm.
Arrangements were made through the Haut Funeral Home at Gackle.

Out of state relatives attending were: Mr. and Mrs. Melvin Dallman and Linda Wyatt of Red Lodge, Mont.; Mr. and Mrs. Melvin Kalmbach of Paw Paw, Michigan; and Robert Malm of Detroit, Mich.

Funeral services for Mamie Larson, 90, of Richfield, MN, and formerly of Kulm, were held Saturday, April 20, 2002, at Kulm Baptist Church with Rev. Paul Johnson officiating. She died April 15 at Fairview University Medical Center, Minneapolis.

Mamie Bjur, the daughter of John L and Hulda (Johnson) Bjur, was born July 2, 1911 near Kulm. She grew up in the Kulm area and attended school at Swede Township #1 School. After receiving her education, she continued to live and farm with her family in the Kulm area.

On June 7, 1930, Mamie married Albert A. Larson on the family farm, near Kulm. The couple lived in Kulm for a time before moving to Washington and worked for various fruit picking operations. In 1937, the couple moved to St. Paul, Minn., and then in 1941 returned to farm in the Kulm area. In 1959, the couple moved back to Minneapolis, where they lived together until Albert’s death in 1986. After Albert’s’ death, Mamie continued to live in Minneapolis and later moved to Richfield, Minn.

Survivors include a son, Aaron (Donna) Larson of Richfield.

Mamie was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, five brothers and three sisters.

Interment was in Swede Township Cemetery, rural Kulm. Dahlstrom Funeral Home of Kulm was in charge of arrangements.

Violet Larson, 67, Gackle, N.D., died Tuesday, Dec. 23, 1997, in Villa Maria Healthcare Center, Fargo.

Violet Kalmbach was born May 1, 1930, near Jud, N.D., where she grew up and attended school. In 1947 she moved with her parents to Kulm, N.D. On Sept. 27, 1957, she married Orville Larson in Napoleon, N.D. They lived in Gackle. He died in 1983. She entered Hi-Acres Manor, Jamestown, N.D., in 1996, and she entered Villa Maria Healthcare Center in 1997.

She is survived by four sons, Larry (Vicki), Jerry, both Gackle, Gary, Wishek, N.D., Dale (Sheila), Bismarck, N.D.; a brother, Melvin (Shirley), Paw Paw, Mich.; four sisters, Irene Wallace, Cannon City, Colo, Leona Rempfer, ...

Laura Lautt, 80, Wishek, formerly of Lehr, died Saturday, Oct. 21, 2006, at Wishek Community Hospital.

Services will be at 1:30 p.m. Thursday at the United Methodist Church, Lehr, with the Revs. Grant Piehl and Marty Toepke-Floyd officiating. Burial will be in the Lehr City Cemetery.

Laura Annetta Janke was born April 17, 1926, in Logan County, near Gackle, the daughter of Jacob and Christina (Lippert) Janke. She grew up in the area and received her elementary education in the local rural school. She helped on the family farm. She married Ted Lautt on June 9, 1944, at the courthouse in Napoleon. They lived and farmed northeast of Lehr until 1958. They then moved to Lehr.

Martha Lautt, 91, Wishek,  N.D., died Wednesday, July 13, 2005, at Wishek Home for the Aged, Wishek.

Martha Sukut was born May 20, 1914, at the family farm southwest of Fredonia, N.D., the daughter of Edward Sr. and Emma (Bender) Sukut. She grew up and attended the local rural school where she received her elementary education.  She married Edwin Lautt on Oct. 14, 1935, at Fredonia. They lived on his parents’ farm until 1938 when they moved to a farm in the Fredonia area.  In 1940, they moved to a farm 10 miles southwest of Fredonia where they farmed until 1955.  They then sold the farm and bought Fredonia Bar.  In 1965, they sold the bar and moved into Fredonia.  He died Sept. 27, 1987.  In 1989, she moved to Wishek and in May 2003, she entered Wishek Home for the Aged. She was a member of Martin Luther Lutheran Church, Fredonia, and the Ladies Aid.

She is survived by a son, Vernon (Emogene), Moses Lake, Wash.; two sisters, Viola Mowry, Monroe, Wash., and Anna Miller, Wishek; two grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, two daughters, four brothers and four sisters.

Services: 1 p.m. today, Martin Luther  Lutheran Church, Fredonia, with the Rev. Annette Crickenberger officiating.

June Lawrence, 79, Jamestown, died Sunday, Jan. 19, 2003, at MeritCare Medical Center, Fargo, N.D.

June Marie Miska was born Dec. 19, 1923, in Cleveland, N.D. She was raised and attended school in Cleveland, graduating from Cleveland High School. She attended business college in Jamestown and worked for First State Bank in Gackle, N.D. She married Albert B. Lawrence on Nov. 15, 1944, at First Congregational Church in Jamestown. She worked for Farmers Union in Jamestown as a secretary. She was a member of First Congregational United Church of Christ and a women's circle at the church, as well as a member of a homemakers club and a 4-H leader. She enjoyed playing bridge, whist and solitaire and doing crossword puzzles.

She is survived by her husband; two daughters, Carol (Curt) Glasoe, Dickinson, N.D., and Janet (Mark) Wiese, Jamestown; and five grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by a daughter, Barbara Jean; a grandmother, Anna Miska, and grandfather, Joseph Miska.

Services: 10:30 a.m. Thursday, First Congregational United Church of Christ, Jamestown, with the Rev. Terri Akkerman officiating.
Prayer service: 7 p.m. Wednesday, Eddy Funeral Chapel, Jamestown.
Visitation: 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Wednesday, Eddy Funeral Home, Jamestown, and one hour before the service at the church.

A. F. Lehr, Long-Time City Banker, Dies in California

A. F. Lehr, 88, pioneer and prominent longtime businessman in Gackle died early Friday morning, July 29, 1966 at his home in Lodi, California.

Andrew F. Lehr was born September 22, 1879, at the family farm four miles southwest of Tripp, S.D. the son of Andreas Lehr and Clara Goehring Lehr.

He attended the local school and grew to manhood on the farm where he worked for his parents until December, 1902. At the age of 23 he went to Kulm, N.D., where he worked in the Zillmer General Store. In the year 1904 he came to Gackle where he started the Lehr Real Estate Office. In the following year, 1905, he helped organize the Logan County Bank, later named the First State Bank of Gackle. On September 2, 1906, he and Magdalena Hieb were married at Kulm, N.D. The couple made their home in Gackle, where Mr. Lehr was associated with banking and real estate. In 1925, he organized the A. F. Lehr Company in which he remained active until his retirement due to illness. He had been honored as one of the oldest continual bankers of North Dakota, having served as president since 1909. He was active in civic affairs and was instrumental in forming new businesses in Gackle. In 1931 he was elected to the state Legislature as a representative for the 36th District, and was active in church affairs, having served as Trustee or Deacon of the Grace Baptist Church at various times as well as being Sunday School Superintendent and Teacher. He helped organize and build the Baptist Home for the Aged at Bismarck and served as treasurer for many years. Following the death of his wife in July 1959, he continued to live in Gackle. On February 18, 1962, he and Margaret Rott Goehring were married at Lodi, California. They made Gackle their summer home, living the winter months at Lodi, California. They returned to Lodi in the fall of 1963 where Mr. Lehr was taken ill and remaining until his death.

Surviving are his widow, a daughter Ella (Mrs. Charles E. Hamilton), Hillsborough, Calif., a son Calvin C. Lehr, Gackle, N.D., six grandchildren and three great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his first wife, two daughters and on son in infancy, a daughter Clara, five brothers and three sisters.

The body is being returned to Gackle for funeral services were held at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, August 3, 1966,at the Grace Baptist Church in Gackle with Rev. R. C. Staking, pastor officiating. Burial was in the family plot in the Gackle Cemetery. The body was at the Haut Funeral Home in Gackle.

Lillian Lehr, 90, Jamestown, died Tuesday, March 18, 2003, at Hi-Acres Manor Nursing Center, Jamestown.

Lillian Klundt was born Jan. 26, 1913, in Gackle, N.D., the daughter of Edward and Barbara (Moos) Klundt. She grew up in the area, attended elementary school in the local rural school and helped on the family farm. She married Arthur Lehr on June 16, 1938, at Gackle. They lived on farms near Alfred, N.D. In 1959 she moved to Jamestown, where she was employed at Central Dakota Nursing Home for 21 years until she retired. In June 1996, she entered Hi-Acres Manor Nursing Center. She was a member of First Baptist Church, Jamestown.

She is survived by two daughters, Margaret (Selmer) Dockter, Chandler, Ariz., and Ardella (Pat) McCarty, Mesa, Ariz.; a son, Cordell (Sandra), Jamestown; a brother, Rueben (Leona), Gackle; seven grandchildren and five great-grandchildren

She was preceded in death by her parents; four brothers, John, Emil, Edwin and Harold; and an infant sister, Barbara.

Services: 2 p.m. Saturday, Hi-Acres Manor Chapel, Jamestown, with the Chaplain David Fisher officiating.
Visitation: 1 to 5 p.m. today and 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Friday, Haut Funeral Homes, Jamestown.
Burial: Gackle Cemetery, Gackle.

Ruth Zimmerman was born Jan. 21, 1916, at Gackle, N.D., the daughter of Jacob and Katherine Zimmerman. She married Melbert Lehr and was a homemaker. She was a member of First Baptist Church, Lodi, Calif., where she taught Sunday school. She enjoyed reading, traveling, listening to gospel music, crossword puzzles and cooking.

She is survived by her husband, three daughters, JoAnn (Glenn) Wasden, Volcano, Calif., Connie (Garry) Caskey and Diana (James) Wolff, both Lodi; seven grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by a son, David; three brothers, Jacob, Christ and Harold; four sisters, Emma Larson, Lydia Mueller, Alta Vigario and Bertha Fricke; and a grandson.

Services: held June 12.

Crystal J. Lehrke, 85, Fairlea, W.Va., died Wednesday, Nov. 9, 2005, at Greenbrier Manor Nursing Home, Fairlea, after a long illness.

Crystal Olson was born Feb. 1, 1920, in Streeter, N.D., the daughter of John and Caroline (Rue) Olson.  She married Harold A. Lehrke.  She was a homemaker.  She lived in the Lewisburg, W.Va., area for the past 21 years. He died Feb. 26, 2000.  She was a member of the Greenbrier Valley Church of the Nazarene, a Sunday school teacher, president of N.W.M.S. and a church board member.

She was survived by two daughters, Carolyn Lehrke, Lewisburg, and Sandra Sams, Alderson, W.Va., a son, Dean, Coffeyville, Kan.; two sisters, Lila Larsen and Hazel Stallock, both Jamestown, N.D.; two brothers, Vernon, Napa Valley, Calif., and Orville, New Boston, Texas; and two grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; and three brothers, Norris, Clifford and Leon.

Services: Held Saturday at the Alderson Church of the Nazarene, Muddy Creek Mountain, W.Va.
Visitation: Held Friday at the Longanacre Funeral Home, Fairlea.
Burial: Rosewood Cemetery, Lewisburg.

Carol Letcher, 57, Westminster, Colo., died Thursday, April 24, 2003, at her home after a battle for the past year with inflammatory breast cancer.

Carol Ann Dorr was born Oct. 30, 1945, in Jamestown, the daughter of Karl and Lydia (Krieger) Dorr. She attended Gackle (N.D.) High School. She married Robert Letcher on July 6, 1963, in Denver, Colo. She began working for the Boulder (Colo.) Valley School District in 1978, retiring in 2002. Her most recent position was as treasurer of Fairview High School.

She is survived by her husband; two sons, Shannon (Cinda), Phoenix, Ariz., and Shane (Barbara), both Denver; a daughter, Audra (Scott) Jones, Denver; a sister, Arlene Weist, Fargo, N.D.; and a grandson.

She was preceded in death by her parents.

Services: held April 29, Broomfield (Colo.) United Methodist Church, with the Rev. Jon Almgren officiating.
Burial: St. Logan National Cemetery.

Bertha Limesand, 86, Fargo, N.D., formerly of Jamestown, died Monday, June 12, 2006, at Villa Maria Nursing Center, Fargo.

Bertha Hust was born July 7, 1919, in Streeter, N.D., the daughter of Henry and Katie (Enzminger) Hust. She attended rural farm school through the seventh grade. She later moved with her parents to Tappen, N.D. She married David Pfaff on Nov. 18, 1938, in Tappen at her parents’ home. They farmed in the Tappen area. She worked as a nurse’s aide at Bismarck (N.D.) Hospital and Golden Manor Nursing Home, Steele, N.D. In 1975, she moved to Steele. She worked as a waitress at the bowling alley and as an assistant cook at the Steele School. She also sold Avon. In 1981, she moved to Jamestown. She married Marvin Limesand in July 1983. She worked at Lil's Restaurant until she retired. He died in July 1997. She moved to Moorhead, Minn., in January 2003. She entered Villa Maria Nursing Home in May 2005. She enjoyed crocheting, embroidery, baking and playing bingo.

She is survived by three daughters, Gloria (Stan) Thorsteinson, Renton, Wash., Delores (Duane) Veil, Colorado Springs, Colo., and Sandra (Lonnie) Freier, Glyndon, Minn.; a sister, Lydia Kleinknecht, Bismarck; a brother, Wesley, Wycliff, Minn.; 15 grandchildren; and 25 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Marvin; two sons, Leo Pfaff and Curtis Pfaff; her parents; five sisters; six brothers; and two great-grandchildren.

Services:10 a.m. Saturday, St. Paul’s United Methodist Church, Jamestown, with the Rev. Gary Ball-Kilbourne officiating.
Prayer service: 7 p.m. Friday, Eddy Funeral Home, Jamestown.
Visitation: 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
Burial: Sunset Memorial Gardens, Jamestown.

Ida Lippert, 92, Wishek, N.D., died Wednesday, April 25, 2001, at Wishek Nursing Home, Wishek.

Ida Gahner was born April 5, 1909, on the family farm home near Jud, N.D., the daughter of Fred and Caroline (Kleinknecht) Gahner. She received her elementary education at the local rural school and grew up in the vicinity. She married Jacob Lippert Dec. 27, 1928, at Fredonia, N.D. They lived on different farms in the area. In 1958 they moved into Wishek, where she was a homemaker and a helper to his Message Therapy in their home. He died Dec. 12, 1984. In 1985 she moved in with her daughter, Lillian. In 1991 she entered Wishek Nursing Home, Wishek. She was a member of St. Lukes Lutheran Church, Wishek.

She is survived by four daughters, Laura Kuck, Crystal, Minn., Lillian Kramer, Wishek, Lena Raile, Greely, Colo., and Eileen (Loren) Kuck, Stone Mountain, Ga.; five sons, Lawrence (Gerrie) and Leon (Jerry), both Williston, N.D., Raymond (Theresa), Colorado Springs, Colo., Leonard (Fern), Stockton, Calif., and Arnny (Cecilia), Fairfield, N.D.; a sister, Verna Mayer, Jamestown; 28 grandchildren; and 44 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, her parents, two daughters, two grandsons, a great-granddaughter, seven brothers and two sisters.

Services: 10:30 a.m. Monday, April 30, St. Lukes Lutheran Church, Wishek, with the Rev. Don Hansen officiating.

Wilma Lippert, 80, Steele, N.D., died Thursday, Sept. 6, 2001, in a Bismarck hospital.

Wilma Blaskowsky was born Nov. 26, 1920, in Gackle, N.D., the daughter of John and Margaret (Geigle) Blaskowsky. She grew up and attended schools in the Medina area. She married Leonard G. Lippert. She worked in the County Agent Office and at Pepple Machine Company. She enjoyed cooking, gardening flowers and fishing.

She is survived by a daughter, Diana (Keith) Wick, Columbus, Neb.; a son, John (Carol), Mandan, N.D.; special friends, Tilmon Martin, Terry and Marlene Martin, Rodney and Jenn Martin and Lori Martin, all Bismarck; a daughter-in-law, Deb Lippert, Lincoln, Neb.; five grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, a brother, and a sister.

Services: 10:30 a.m. today, Trinity Lutheran Church, Steele, with the Rev. Paul Tjostem officiating.

Elizabeth Lonsky, 81, Rogers, died Thursday, July 25, 1996, in Americana Healthcare Center, Fargo. Elizabeth Lorenz was born Oct. 3, 1914, in Stutsman County, N.D., where she grew up and attended school. She married John J. Lonsky Nov. 22, 1934, in Fried, N.D. They farmed near Clementsville, N.D. They later moved to Rogers. He preceded her in death. She moved to Americana Healthcare Center in June of this year. She is survived by a son, John (Marilyn), Wilson, Kan.; a daughter, Gertie (Clarence) Wolf, Fargo; a brother, Paul (Gladys), Weyauwega, Wis.; three sisters, Agnes Dahl, Fargo, Helen (Ernest) Moser, Medina, N.D., Mary (Dell) ...

Judith Loven, 83, Jamestown, died Tuesday, June 14, 2005, at Hi-Acres Manor Nursing Center, Jamestown.

Judith Johnson was born Sept. 8, 1921, in Kulm, N.D., the daughter of Ludwig and Freja (Nordgren) Johnson.  She attended school in Swede Township until the eighth grade.  She married Wesley Loven on Jan. 18, 1946, in Kulm. They farmed near Jud, N.D., until they moved to Montpelier, N.D., in 1952 where they continued to farm. She worked as a nurse’s aide at Trinity Hospital and Hi-Acres Manor, Jamestown.  She was also a seamstress for Eddy Furniture.  He died in May 1992.  She then moved to Jamestown.  She volunteered at Hi-Acres Manor Nursing Center from 1992 until the spring of 2004.  In August 2004, she moved to Hi-Acres Manor where she resided until her death.  She enjoyed needlework, cross-stitch, sewing and reading.

She is survived by three daughters, Barbara (Dick) Hart, Bushnell, Ill., Elaine Perich, Cando, N.D., and Mary (John) Frankhauser, Spokane, Wash.; two sons, Harvey (Marie), Rolla, N.D., and Kenis (Jean), Redmond, Wash.; three sisters, Marilyn (Paul) Gage, Valley City, N.D., Lillet (Morris) Sjostrom, Kulm, and Fern (Jon) Liechty, Jamestown; a special friend, Edwin Elhard, Jamestown; 11 grandchildren; and a great-grandchild.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; an infant son, Galen; a son-in-law, John Perich; seven brothers, Bertil, Claus, Roy, Evert, Elwood, Paul and Stanley; four sisters, Connie Johnson, Alice Lindgren, Sylvia Edstrom and Vernette Sjostrom; and her grandparents.

Services: 11 a.m. Friday, First Assembly of God Church, Jamestown, with the Rev. Darrell Losing officiating.
Prayer service: 7 p.m. Thursday, Eddy Funeral Chapel, Jamestown.

Karen Lucht, 57, Napoleon, N.D., died Sunday, Sept. 21, 2003, at Napoleon Care Center, Napoleon.

Karen Ann Isaak was born Aug. 26, 1946, at Kulm, N.D., the daughter of William and Anna (Gackle) Isaak.  She grew up at Kulm, where she attended school and graduated from Kulm High School in 1964.  She then worked at the Kulm Messenger Newspaper.  She married Wayne Lucht on June 27, 1965, at Zion Lutheran Church, Kulm. They lived in New Rockford, N.D., for two years and for four years in Linton, N.D. In 1973, they moved to Napoleon.  She later worked at Napoleon Drug Store.  She was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church, Napoleon, and was involved in church work group and church circle.  She enjoyed working on crafts, gardening and planting flowers.

She is survived by her husband; a daughter, Tera (David) Malheim, Fargo, N.D.; a sister, Diana (Jo) Cofell, Bismarck, N.D.; and a granddaughter.

She was preceded in death by her parents.

Services: 11 a.m. Wednesday, Trinity Lutheran Church, Napoleon, with the Rev. Richard Hagestuen officiating.
Visitation: 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. today, Dahlstrom Funeral Home, Napoleon, and one hour before the service at the church.
Burial: 2:30 p.m. Wednesday, Kulm Congregational Cemetery, Kulm.

Join the family in celebrating her life at her prayer service to be held on Thursday, July 29, 2005 at 7:30 p.m. at Dahlstrom Funeral Home, Kulm, ND. Visitation will be held Thursday from 10:00 Am to 8:00 PM. The Funeral service will be held at 1:30 p.m., on Friday, July 30, 2005, at Kulm Baptist Church.  Graveside committal service will be held immediately after the service at Swede Township Cemetery.  A fellowship luncheon will follow the burial at the Kulm Community Center.  Family and friends are invited to attend all proceedings.

Audrey June Lundgren, age 78, of Kulm, North Dakota went to be her Lord and Savior on July 24, 2005.  She died peacefully at Elim Nursing Home in Fargo, North Dakota. June was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and most importantly, true disciple of Jesus Christ.  She will be truly missed by family and friends.

June was born on June 28, 1927 daughter of Oscar and Hannah (Larson) Norden in Newdale, Manitoba, Canada and later moved to Minnedosa, Manitoba. June studied music at Brandon College and with the Toronto Conservatory of Music.  In 1948 June began teaching music in Boissevain, Manitoba where she was also the church organist and choir director. Later, June had teaching positions in Souris, Manitoba, Pipestone, Reston and Antler, Saskatchewan until her marriage to Edwin Lundgren in 1951.  They made their home on the family farm in Kulm, North Dakota.

June was involved in many church and community activities.  These included teaching piano, organ, voice, accordion and guitar lessons in Kulm, Wishek, Edgeley and Jamestown, North Dakota. June was the organist and pianist for many years at Kulm Baptist Church.  Besides her music ministry, June served on the Deaconess Board, and was president for two years for the Dakota Conference Women’s Board.  On Saturday mornings June could be heard singing and playing piano for the McCoy Radio Ministry.  June is remembered for having the coffee on and welcoming friends and family in her home.

June was a member of the Kulm Homemakers Club for 25 years. She was also active in the PTA beginning at the local level, serving in different capacities, then at the district level, and at the state level for 15 years.  June served as State PTA President from 1976 to 1978, which included serving on the National PTA Board.

June and her husband Edwin enjoyed traveling together.  Their trips included traveling in the United States, Canada and Sweden.  June also toured seven European countries in 1969, when she joined the Community Singers Group.

June leaves behind her children and grandchildren; E. Brent (Susan) Lundgren, Jill and Jenn, West Fargo, ND; Blaine (Deb) Lundgren, Mandy, Egan, Hannah, and Kaisa, Kulm, ND; Gloria (Dale) Gackle, Stacey, Seattle, WA, Brandy (Dave) Dockter, West Fargo, ND and Alyssa, Kulm, ND; Glenda (Bart) Toay, Brock and Gwen, Fargo, ND, two sisters, Alva Erickson, Abbottsford, BC and Vernice (Herb) Gregor, Kelowna, BC, Canada, and numerous cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends, whom she loved very much She was preceded in death by her parents, husband and son-in-law, Warren Gackle.

Anna Emilia Lunzman, 86, Jamestown, N.D., died Sunday, Jan. 23, 2000, in Hi-Acres Manor, Jamestown.

Anna Bellikka was born Aug. 6, 1913, in Fredonia, N.D., where she grew up and attended school. She later moved to Frederick, S.D., where she operated a nursing home. On Jan. 27, 1946, she married William Lunzman in Frederick. They moved to Missouri, where she attended college and earned a degree in naturopathy, which she practiced for many years in South Dakota. In 1964, they moved to the Fredonia area. He died in 1989. She entered Hi-Acres Manor in 1997.

She is survived by four stepsons, Harold (Lydia) Lunzman, Gackle, N.D., ...
