Church Records for the Year 1806

January Second Saturday 1806. Church met at Big Spring and after worship proceeded to business.
1st Reference from last meeting continued.
2nd Agreed to alter the answer of the Church in July 1805. The alteration of the answer: the charge against the church of unjustice in Nancy Harper's contradicting herself not supported against the church as a body. Tho Nancy Harper confessed through a forget (?) she left the room for a hurt and therefore supported against that part of the church that was knowing to the contradiction.
William Stroud made satisfaction for the wrongs stated against him by the committee of part of six churches.

February Second Saturday 1806. Church met at Big Spring and after worship proceeded to business.
1st Opened a door for the reception of members and received by letter Peter and Fanny Smith.

March Second Saturday 1806. Church met at Big Spring and after worship proceeded to business.
1st Opened a door for the reception of members and received Edward and Sally Stephenson by letter.
2nd Agreed to refer the reference from January meeting to next meeting in course.
3rd Joh Evans appointed to cite Sarah Clark to next meeting.
James Bartlet dismist by letter.

April Second Saturday 1806. Church met at Big Spring and proceeded to business.
1st As to the charge the church had against Stroud and others for holding up sundry charges against the church is given up as a mistake in the church on Stroud and Jeffries saying they had given them up before they was excluded.
2nd As to the amendment in the majority record giving up as wrong and therefore made nul and void with the rest of the majority record.
Sister Sarah Cloud came forward according to request and made satisfaction.
Peter and William Neal appointed to cite Lucy Cogdal and Sarah Henderson to attend at next meeting.
Charles McDaniel and Charles Going appointed to cite Hannah Hill.
Peggy Cooper, Mercurius and Rachel Cook, John Evans and Isaac Lane appointed to cite Nancy Stroud, Keziah Clark, Martha Jeffries, Polly Stubblefield, Sarah Harris, Tildy Slate, Hannah Clark to attend next meeting.

May Second Saturday 1806. Church met at Big Spring and after worship proceeded to business.
1st Lucy Cogdal, Sarah Henderson, Nancy Hill, Stacy Edwards and Nancy Stroud the Church agreed to wate some time longer to see whether they can come to a oneness or not.
2nd Hannah Hill, Peggy Cooper, Mercurius Cook, Rachel Cook, Kesiah Clark, Martha Jeffries, Polly Stubblefield, Sarah Harris, Tildy Slate, Jianah Clark excommunicated for holding with Stroud and withdrawing from the church.
3rd In consequence of a charge lifted by Brother Charles McDaniel against Brother Ritchard Harper referd to next meeting in course.
Brother Jesse Dodson returned his letter of dismission.
Joseph Cogdal having chargd the church???? On Isaac Lanes acomptrone (?) the charge as done through mistake.

June Second Saturday 1806. The Church met at Big Spring and after worship proceeded to business.
1st the Church on Stroud's drawing his charges against them as a body, are willing to receive them into fellowship hoping what Stroud and his party did was through inadvertance or mistake.
2nd And we William Stroud and the rest in the same circumstances trust and believe that if the church has wronged them that it is through a mistake or mistakes.
3rd And both parties agree that if individual complaints to Stroud remain yet unsettled we will labour to remove them in a gospel way.
4th The reference relative to Ritchard Harper continued to next meeting.

July Second Saturday 1806. Church met at Big Spring and after worship proceeded to business.
1st Lifted the reference from last meeting and proceeded to debate the same.
2nd The reference continued to next meeting.
3rd On Sunday evening a door for the reception of members was opened and Samuel Bristow was received by letter.

August Second Saturday 1806. Church met at Big Spring and after worship proceeded to business.
1st Agreed to continue the reference to next meeting.
2nd In consequence of reports arising concerning Brother Charles McDaniel, contrary to Christian character, Brother McDaniel came forward and acknowledged his wrong. The church desired that Brother McDaniel should go and make restitution to the party wronged, and the church appointed Brother Lane and Brother Stephenson to go with Brother McDaniel and make report to next meeting for further trial.
3rd Catherine Hill, John and Susannah Hill and Lucy Cogdal dismist by letter.

September Second Saturday 1806. Church met at Big Spring and after worship proceeded to business.
1st Agreed to continue the reference relative to Ritchard Harper to the Tuesday before the Association, and that day to be our next church meeting in course.
2nd Charles McDaniel excommunicated for taking of corn out of a field that was not his, and for taking of bullets from a man when the man was asleep.
3rd William and Hannah Neal and Sarah Henderson dismist by letter.
4th Received by letter Ransom and Elisabeth Day and Polly Fitzgerald, and King and Delsey two negroes, and William and Dorcas Constant.
5th John Cunningham, James Sims and Thomas Jeffries delegated to attend the Association.

October Second Saturday 1806. Church met at Big Spring and after worship proceeded to business.
1st Hannah Hill, Mercurius and Rachel Cook took their seats.
2nd Agreed to petition the Association for an alteration of their citing from Thursday to Saturday.
3rd Association letter read and approved.
4th Reference relative to Ritchard Harper continued to the 14th day of this month.
William and Nancy Stroud, Obediah and Elisabeth Jennings, Jesse and Ruth Dodson and Dodson's Sukey and James Cunningham dismisd by letter.

October the 14th Day 1806. hurch met at Big Spring according to appointment and continued the reference relative to Ritchard Harper to next meeting.

November 2nd Saturday 1806. Church met at Big Spring and after worship proceeded to business.
1st Continued the reference relative to Ritchard Harper to next meeting.
2nd William and Mary Hase dismist by letter.
3rd Bro. Jeffries and Bro. Jon. Cunningham appointed to labour with Brother Day for a oneness respecting their evidence in the same matter.

December Second Saturday 1806. Church met at Big Spring and after worship proceeded to business.
1st Lifted the reference relative to Ritchard Harper and referd it to the next meeting.
2nd Bro Edw. Stephenson, Brother Ishum Clark and Brother Joseph Neal appointed to labour with Sister Harper and desire her to attend next meeting.
