Church Records for the Year 1828

January Second Saturday 1828. Church met at Big Spring.

February Second Saturday 1828. Church met at Big Spring and after worship proceeded to business. 1st Opened a door for the reception of members and received John Hodges by experience. 2nd James Dove dismist by letter.

March Second Saturday 1828. Church met at Big Spring and after worship proceeded to business. 1st Opened a door for the reception of members and received John Sanders by experience. 2nd Dismist George Sanders by letter.

April Second Saturday 1828. Church met at Big Spring.

May Second Saturday 1828. Church met at Big Spring and after worship proceeded to business. 1st Received Rhoda Hunt by letter.

June Second Saturday 1828. Church met at Big Spring and after worship proceeded to business. 1st Sister Sarah Hodges taken under dealings by some of the church for communion with the Methodist Society. Deferred to our next meeting.

July Second Saturday 1828. Church met at Big Spring and after worship proceeded to business. 1st Received George Hughs by experience. 2nd Sarah Hodges communing with the Methodist Society and going in unto their love feast and declaring she would not be debarred from the privilege and benefit she enjoyed at such meetings the church agreeing to sit her at liberty. She is therefore excluded. John Hodges declaring himself not a member of the church and as such excluded. 3rd Christian Plank, John Sanders and John Evans appointed deligets to the Association.

August Second Saturday 1828. Church met at Big Spring and after worship proceeded to business. 1st Association letter read and approbated.

September [just the word; nothing else]

October Second Saturday 1828. Church met at Big Spring and after worship proceeded to business. 1st George Hughs draws his experience from this church in order to join the Head of Barren Creek Church. 2nd The church agreed to send Sister Frances Cleark another letter of dismission. 3rd On Sunday morning the church opened her door for the reception of members and received Stokley Lawson and Emilia Lawson by letter.

November Second Saturday 1828. Church met at Big Spring and after worship proceeded to business. 1st Dismist Agnes Branson by letter.

December Second Saturday 1828. Church met at Big Spring and after worship proceeded to business. 1st Opened a door for the reception of members and received Hirum and Elisabeth Young by letter.
