Church Record for 1877

Jan. first Saturday 1877. No meeting was held.

Sister Elisabeth Johnson departed this life December the 25th 1876, she being a member of the Primitive Baptist Church in full fellowship. By her death she has left numerous friends, relations and brethren to mourn her loss. Yet we sorrow not as those that have no hope. We believe that she is gone to that haven of rest that is prepared for all dear saints of God.

Feb. first Saturday 1877. Church met at Big Springs. After preaching set for business.
First opened the door for the reception of members.
Second appointed Brother John Killion to go and see sister Nancy Harper and cite her to attend her meeting. Nathan Hurst mod. D. H. Rosenbalm c. clk.

March first Saturday 1877. Church met at Big Spring. After preaching set for business.
First opened the door for the reception of members.
Second excluded Sister Nancy An Harper for not obeying the call of the church and third, agreed to petition to Dotsons Creek, Mountain Creek and Union Churches for their ministers and deacons to be with us at our May meeting on a sacramental occasion and appointed Brother John Killion, Thompson Hurst & P. L. Evans to bear the petitions. Done by order of the church. Nathan Hurst mod. D. H. Rosenbalm c. cl.

April first Saturday 1877. Church met at Big Spring. After preaching set for business.
First opened the door for the reception of members.

May first Saturday 1877. Church met at Big Spring. After preaching set for business.
First opened the door for the reception of members.
Second there was a request from our sister church at Union requesting our ministers and deacons and invited the brothers and sisters to be with them at their May meeting on a sacramental occasion, which was granted. D. H. Rosenbalm, c. cl. Nathan Hurst mod.

June first Saturday 1877. Church met at Big Spring. After preaching set for business.
First opened the door for the reception of members.
Second was a petition from our sister church at Mountain Creek requesting our ministers & deacons & invites the brethren & sisters to be with them at their June meeting on a sacramental occasion which was granted.

July first Saturday 1877. Church met at Big Spring. After preaching set for business. First opened the door for the reception of members.

August first Saturday 1877. Church met at Big Spring. After preaching set for business.
First opened the door for the reception of members and received Sister Elizabeth Hurst by experience and the day following was baptized by Elder Nathan Hurst.
Second agreed to letter and delligates to the Association & appointed Elder Nathan Hurst, James Bunch, Jesse Evans, D. H. Rosenbalm & Thomas Evans to bare the letter. Done by order of the church while in session. D. H. Rosenbalm, c. cl. Nathan Hurst mod.

Sept. the first Saturday 1877. Church met at Big Spring. After preaching set for business.
First chose Brother James Bunch mod.
Second opened the door for the reception of members.
Third the Association letter was read and received.

October first Saturday 1877. Church met at Big Spring. After preaching set for business.
First opened the door for the reception of members.
Second received a petition from our sister church at Mountain Creek for our ministers & deacons to be with them at their next meeting on a sacramental occasion. James Bunch mod.

November first Saturday 1877. Church met at Big Spring. After preaching set for business.
First opened the door for the reception of members.

December first Saturday 1877.Church met at Big Spring. After preaching set for business.
First opened the door for the reception of members.
