Inter-Library Loan Expandable

For those of you who are unfamiliar with Inter-Library Loan, if your local library is willing, they can "borrow" items from other lending libraries. Sometimes there is a charge to cover postage, etc. but anything that a lending library has available for ILL is accessible. I've been finding this very useful for county records on microfilm in states where I can't visit to get the information myself or where their state archives charge an enormous fee for out-of-state researchers.

Here are some of my favorites.

Library of Virginia: So far they haven't charged me anything to borrow their microfilm rolls.

National Archives and Records Administration

Tennessee State Library & Archives

Illinois State Historical Library

State Historical Society of Missouri: They have newspapers for all of Missouri's counties. Write or e-mail them for a detailed listing by county.
