These notes were originally written in the Williams Family

Record book. The Williams family regularly held reunions, at which time the

record book was updated. All of the information about the Williams family

presented in these pages was taken from the Family Record Book.

"The first record of the Williams family we can find begins

with Samuel Williams, who died in 1860, and his wife, Nancy Rogers Williams,

who died in 1867. These people lived and died in England. To them were born

eight children, Sarah, John, Mary Anne, Thomas, Julia, Samuel, Richard and

Andrew, all of whom came to America except Richard, who still lives in England

(as recorded about the turn of the century), and John and Samuel, who lived

and died there. They all settled near Strongsville, Ohio, except Andrew and

Thomas, who moved to Elsie, Michigan in the early sixties (1860), and took

up homes which were then nearby a wilderness."
