Lt. Isaac MARSHALL33 was born about 1760/61 in Virginia.33
He was a Methodist. He served in the Virginia Continental Army, enlisting on 22 May 1777 in the 14 VA Infantry, with
Captain Peter Jones.113 He was appointed to rank of Sergeant on enlistment. Enlistment shown for 3 months in
the beginning of his enlistment, later it was shown as 3 years. July, 1778 when he was exchanged he enlisted for the duration
of the War. His rate of pay was in the beginning 2� a month, or $8.00. When he was exchanged and enlisted for three years, or the
duration of the war, it went to $10.00 a month or 3�. He was again captured in Charleston, SC and escaped.
The pension of Nathan Wright,
who was also captured at Charleston, mentions an escape with two men, a Taylor and a
Marshall. It is thought that perhaps, Nathan Wright and
Isaac Marshall, did escape together. Descendants of Isaac Marshall, may apply to Daughters of American
Revolution (DAR) for membership.113

Isaac and Mary Marshall sold their claim to a negro now in possession of Margaret
Burford on 24 Aug 1797 in Warren Co., NC.116 He appeared
on the census in 1800 in Warren Co., NC.117 He was named in the as a Wit. in Suit Phil Burford Admr. vs
Margaret Burford (2 day & 16 miles) on 4 May 1801 in Warren Co., NC.118 He was named in the Acct sale of Est.
of Jesse Bell, Sr., decd on 26 Sep 1805 in Warren Co., TN.116 Isaac and family moved between 1808 and 1809 to Iredell Co., NC.119
This is based on information that Franklin Eleazer was born in Warren Co., NC and Theophilus born in Iredell Co., NC.
Also, he witnessed a deed in May 1809 in Iredell Co., NC. He was named in the Land transaction
between Samuel White to James
Mitchel as a witness, on 11 May 1809 in Iredell
Co., NC.119 He was named in the Land
transaction between John McClain & James Mitchell, as a witness. on 5 Jul 1811
in Iredell Co., NC. He began drawing Revolutionary
War Pension on 19 Nov 1821 in Iredell Co., NC. He was named as a witness in the Deed, where Henry Foote
of Warren Co., NC sold to Robert Guartney, on 26 Sep 1823 in Iredell
Co., NC.119 Land he later bought from his son William Marshall was mentioned in a Deed between Susanna [X] Allen to
Silas Stuart on 17 Oct 1825 in Iredell Co., NC. Isaac Marshall bought 24 acres 6 Dec 1826 in Iredell Co., NC.119
In the will of Isaac Marshall
he stated that he left his land containing about 139 acres to his son Theophilus
Marshall. These two land transactions of 24 acres and 115 acres total 133 acres.119
He signed a will on 27 Mar 1839 in Iredell Co., NC.

Mary Marshall was named in the following records which prove her parents as Henry Foote and
Margaret (Colclough) Foote. {Warren Minutes 1783-1787, Oct. Ct. 1785
p. 112, Ordered that John Wright, Isaac Acre and William Noyal Norsworthy divide
and set apart one child's part for Mary Marshall agreeable to the last will of
Henry Foote, dec'd.} She was named in the will, this probate record of her father, and then the 1819 Division
of Slaves. She was named in division in the Est. of Henry Foote of Negros, in the
month of Oct 1785 in Warren Co., NC.123
"A share of the Est. of Henry Foote is allotted to Mary Marshall She was
named in the Division of Negros between heirs of Henry A. Foote. on 2 Mar 1819

It would appear from Records in Monroe Co., TN that their brother Joseph Marshall
was in Monroe Co., TN previous to them. Joseph Marshall, then moved on to other

was named as the Court Recorder, Monroe Co., TN in 1827 in Monroe Co., TN. He
was Appointed with John Robertson in Monroe Co., TN records to examine Ruth
Phillips (Cherokee) in Deed of Land in Jun 1830 in Monroe Co., TN.136 Joseph
may be the Joseph Marshall, who married Mary Hoss on the 2 April 1820 in Washington
Co., TN.
He and Mary had eight children. He was
on the tax list in 1836 in Monroe Co., TN.44 He
was named as a Witness for William B. Marshall & Mary Marshall,
Deed Bk. A, pg 882. on 6 Jan 1837 in Monroe Co., TN. There is a Note signed
jointly between Joseph Marshall & Washington

25 Oct 1800 in Warren Co., NC.113
Date of birth from Rev. War Pension files. His family was living in Warren Co.,
NC at the time. He was probably born there. Richard married about 1832 Lucinda, maiden name unknown.
He and Lucinda had seven
children. Lucinda and children are in Monroe Co., NC in 1860, and on the census. He moved before 1849 to South Carolina. Not sure of dates he went to South Carolina.
It was prior to 1849. He
died between Mar 1852 and 10 May 1856 in South Carolina.113 Richard was convicted of Manslaughter for killing a cousin, John Colclough. John Ashby
Colclough, died on Sep 29, 1849.
Notes from WFT Vol 7, family #2063, stated
John Ashby Colclough was "Killed by a man named Marshall for trying to stop
Marshall from beating his wife."

Thomas W. MARSHALL113 was born
on 15 Jun 1802 in Warren Co., NC.113
He was on the tax list in 1836 in Monroe Co., TN.44 He died before 1849, as he was not on the list of remaining children filed in
1849, when Theophilus Marshall had the will of Mary (Foote) Marshall probated. The middle
initial of W. is found on the pension file listing of children.

Elizabeth married John Farrell on 1 Aug 1824 in Iredell Co., NC. John and Elizabeth Farrell had six children.

old on 1850 census, shown born in North Carolina, so this family moved in 1850
