I took the Holidays off from genealogical research and focused on finishing Christmas gifts. Today I am starting the research again and after hours of not finding anything on the Ford/Martinez lines I went back to searching for the marriage of Kathryn Ford and Edward Goins. This marriage information was obtained via familysearch.org. So in the last hour and a half I have one thing found. Now I know it can take longer than an hour and a half to find what I'm looking for but the information I've been searching for has been hours. I'm hoping someone has some information on Marten/Martin Ford married to Hannah Martinez. so far the only records I come up with are for a Martin and Lucinda who have kids other than Katie. I'm not following this line for three reasons... they are listed as being white, Lucinda is the wrong mother's name and on the 1900 census Hannah stated she was the mother of one child and that child was deceased.

Time really gets away from me. The last several months have been spent doing personal genealogy and when not working on research I was working on other projects in preparation for Christmas. However, a little more than a month ago one of my very good friends came to me with the request that I research her dad's family. So far I have more than tripled the amount of information they had and provided three reports. Researching her family has really opened up new sources for me. I had never done research involving slaves until now and am really impressed with the information there is available.
Before researching my friends family I finished writing the short history on Gomer Morris. I haven't had a chance to work on the full book in his remembrance but that is on my list of things to do. My friend will also be receiving a book on her family as well as the workbook. This research will lead to a third book based on Pocatello and the minorities involved in helping to make this railroad town in to a well off city. With out the minorities Pocatello could have been just like many other railroad towns - there and then gone again.
With my friends permission her family will be included on this site in much the same way as my family. She is thrilled with the information she has seen so far and it makes me feel good to know that she is ready to find out who her ancestors are and that she came to me. In doing this research I have found some pictures, military records, worked on findagrave.com, used census records including the slave register for 1860. In the future I will be including some of my findings on h ere. The names I'm working on in general include but are not limited to Goins, Steward, Smith, and Ford.

On Monday, I was busy doing things other than genealogy so all I managed to get done that day was to make a few corrections on the Green family page. Tuesday was a little better although I didn't work on the website. I spent the day writing a three page history on Gomer Morris, for the Daughters of Utah Pioneers. This was just a start in what I hope to become a full book on the Morris family. While I included some details from Gomer's life I did not include copies of records that I have pertaining to the information.
Today was another days spent writing a history but this time it was on Ann Dodd Butler Hodge. There is a history of her on a website and I took some information from that history and noted the author but most of the information in my history on her come from things I have found. This history is only one page as opposed to the three for Gomer. I was hoping to make this one at least two pages but I just didn't have enough information to do so.
Also while doing some research today I have found that Edwin Butler died from heart problems. His dad died from peritoneal inflammation. However, the heart problems is what has me concerned because that's three generations that died before they were 40 from heart problems - my grandma Earlin, her Dad, and his dad. It makes me speculate that if peritoneal inflammation hadn't killed William Butler then maybe heart problems would have but we'll never know.

Well today has been productive as far as updating the Green family page. I have all of my information on our deceased relatives clear up to the first generation. The page itself still needs a lot of work and I will focus the next couple of days on that. My time, tomorrow, is limited but it will get some work done. I did find in earlier generations in my databse - some errors and corrected them. Most if not everyone is in numerical order per family family (example: Thomas had two children... 1)name... 2)name) there may be a few out of order but I think I caught them all.

Early this afternoon I sat down to start revamping the Green Family page and when I went to my personal database for the information I found it to be a complete mess. There were so many errors that needed to be corrected. I didn't get them all but I think I got the majority fixed. There were several people named "living" who actually had names and are dead. New information was needed on those who were living but are now dead such as Aunt Rebecca Jorgensen Green who passed away last October and I didn't know until last night. Those who were listed as living and I couldn't find names have been deleted out of the system until a later time. There were so many duplcates of people. Sometimes there were as many as four entries for one person. So all in all it has been a very productive day. Because of the work in my personal database I was able to add approximately 25 names to my online list.
I found a Harris that married a Henson and the sibling married a Green so I'm doubly related to the Harris's out of McCammon. I also found a Harris from McCammon, I don't remember where his parents were from, but so far he is not connected to the big Harris family from McCammon, Bannock, Idaho.
I will be starting the Green family page tomorrow because there is a ton of information to go on it. It may take a few days to put all the information together. I have two Green families and so there will be at least two pages of information for the Green's. The second green line (Not Thomas Green's family but the other) will be on the second page which will only be linked to by the first page.

The greater part of today was spent on revamping the surname index. The surnames are still listed alphabetical but now they are on separate pages depending on the letter the surname starts with.
It is my hope that this will make it more user friendly.

Thursday, June 5, 2014
I have just spend the last 3.5 hours updating the Butler family page. It still needs some work but the big majority is there. While laying bed last night I realized I have some surnames that cover more than one family for instance the Butler surname covers my grandma Earlin's line which goes into England while it also covers the John Lowe Butler family which goes into Ireland. I have 99.9% of the English line on the page. Another page (linked directly to the primary page only) for the John Lowe Butler will come later.
I'm not sure which page to work on tomorrow because there are so many to do. I know the Henson, Morris, and Risenmay's all need done or redone. There are so many other pages that need work too. Normally I'd ask for suggestions but I know the response from at least two cousins lol.
I still haven't heard back from the DAR and am patiently (or not so patiently) waiting.

The Higley page is now complete at least as far as the information I have. Genealogy is never complete. The page was finished on Sunday evening. It took this long to make my journal entry because I had a minor medical procedure done Monday morning. Still not feeling 100% but wanted to get this noted. Let it be known the information on the Higley's has not been verified so there are probably some errors. It's nice to have this page online because there are so many Higley cousin's out there.
For those of you who look through my site you will find each page a little different but the Higley page is a whole lot different, not just in color but also in design. I decided instead of having everything look jumbled and like I didn't know what I was doing (and I really don't) I would learn a little more html and I'm hoping the Higley page is the beginning of a new way for me to break the families down.
I also have plans to do a page for the Farnsworths. Most of this information has not been verified yet either but It'll be as complete as I can make it. The Farnsworths are a really big family so I won't pretend to even come close to getting everyone on the page.

Yesterday was a monumental day for my son. Antonio Jose Samora (A.J.) graduated from high school. We spend the day in Idaho Falls visiting my grandparents and then went to Ammon to see him graduate. He got up and announced his class to the audience at the end of the ceremony. We are really proud of him.
I have spent the majority of today researching the Winget family on ancestry.com and have put together an entire page dedicated to them. It can be found on the surname index with a hyperlink to the page. I have also connected it with the Hulet page so if you want to look at that page it's also available. The Hulet page is also connected to the Surname Index. I have saved copies of the census and death records I could find on ancestry. I have also been searching the Pioneer Overland Travel for pioneer names related to the Winget family as well as histories from the Daughters of the Utah Pioneers.
My next project is to work on the Higley's. This is an extensive family so it will be done in pieces.
The Winget page covers two maybe three generations. As information gets verified on William Winget and Sarah Elizabeth Lindley I'll add them above Cyrus Winget who married Catherine Ann Hulet.

Thursday, May 29, 2014
Today I have spent my time working on the descendants of the Hulet family. I have found a copy of the Revoluationary Record for Syvanus Hulet on the DAR website. It'll be posted on the Hulet page of Family Connections. I also found where his brother Asa also fought in the Revolutionary war. According to the information found on the DAR site Sylvanus was married twice. His first wife was Mary Charlotte Dogherty and they had a son Sylvester Smith Hulet born in 1817. Not to be consufed with Sylvester who was born in 1800 to Sylvanus and Mary Lewis Hulet.
Look for more changes to the website. My goal is to make it easier for the information to be found on each page. My Over all goal is to make each name on the index a link to a page for that family. This will be very time consuming and a lot of dedication but necessary for those of you who are interested in what is going on with the family. As new surnames are added to my personal database they will also be added to the index - the link to this index is on the home page.

Yesterday, I met two wonderful Morris cousins. They were interested in the research I have done on Gomer Morris. After they left I started doing more research on the Morris family and got side tracked by a post on a group I belong to and started research the Hulet family.
I have been looking for a Revolutionary war vet for a long time so I could have the opportunity to join the Daughters of the Revolution. Because of this post on the Morris family could lead me to the Hulet's. The Hulet family is related to the Cox family in my cousin Taylor's family and they are related through the maternal line starting with my mom and going through the mother's line all the way back to the Hulet's.
Sylvanus Hulet is my 6th great grandfather and he did three terms of service in the revolutionary war according to one website I found. On Ancestry I could only find two connections to the war.
I'm so excited with this find that over the next couple of days I'll be doing more research and adding more information to the Hulet page which is online now. So far there is only one link on their but I'm hoping to be able to change that and actually get a history put together on Sylvanus.
I find it fascinating that Sylvanus is also the father to Utah pioneers. His son, Charles and family, came out west with an unknown company in 1850. Loook for more to come on this on the Hulet page.
There was a correction made in the list of surnames. It was just a miner change - but now there is not an extra space after the surname of Lords.
Yesterday I spent a fair amount of time giving the Morris page a fresh new look so it would be easier to find the information than to have it all jumbled. In addition to giving it a fresher look all errors seem to have been fixed.

Tuesday, March 18, 2014
Over the last several hours I have spent time adding close to 300 more names to my database as a result of finding the death obituary for Stella Louise Butler who was the last of her family. She was born to the union of George Franklin Butler and Lydia Ethel Martin who were my great great grandparents. The family I was adding was her inlaws - the Webb's. There's a lot more information to add on this line but I did get the direct lines back about five generations.
Aunt Stella will be missed greatly. I have only been able to see her a handful of times but it was a real pleasure to know her. She was really young when my great grandfather, her brother, got married and moved from the family home.

I have spent the last few hours working on family history with a cousin. We have found things that cause more questions than answers. One of them being the marriage of Wilhelmina Morris to Howard Joseph Hurst/Herst. Another one I found was someone had changed my grandpa's name on familysearch to Larry Marsh from Charles Larry Marsh. I'm a little aggravated at the change but have to deal with it now.
Today has seen little progress because everything I have been looking for seems to be unattainable at the moment. All the records seem to have decided to disappear just when they are needed. Does anyone else have this issue?
I really need to get my computer back so I can do some major updates online using my offline genealogy database and adding the information from hard copies to the online stuff.
While going through all of my hard copies I found tons of information that needs to be added to my online database. Am finding only about 2/3, if that, of my genealogy is available online or via rootsmagic/paf.

Thursday, March 13, 2014
I'm so excited to be back online after having been ill most of the winter with the flu, cold, pneumonia and then the flu again. My computers have been down as well. Just recently more changes to the Morris file on family search have been made. I really wish some people would verify (the church included) the information before doing a merge or combining records. Someone added a death record to Gomer Morris that doesn't show anything so we still don't have an exact death date or place for him.
We had a little bit of a scare with my grandfather. This man has always been a rock and has missed little if any time from work. Just recently, while in his 80s, he under went surgery to remove his appendix. It's a blessing that he was able to recover as quickly as he has.
The other day I was talking to another distant cousin about the DAR. She has more than 50 lines going back to the American Revolution. I have found that I'm related to Thomas Darling who served in the Revolutionary War but my direct line is actually through his sister so I don't qualify for the DAR at this time. I am hoping to eventually find just one line (hoping for just one but would love to have many more) to the American Revolution. Another cousin said we may be related to a Morris who signed the Declaration of Independence but again if we are it would be a side line because my direct ancestor came over from Wales after the war.
I have done a few updates on the genealogy database but it's still not ready to be uploaded. I am trying to combine all three - or maybe it's four now - trees before doing another upload. Once this new upload is done the other trees will be taken down.
As of late I have been working on my book - a fictional novel - using names from my genealogy database and using some parts of real people's lives (these people are no longer living and the names have been changed). Being able to bring some of the history to life through journaling and writing fiction based on real facts brings me joy and I hope to share that with others.
I did a small update on my Bio page. Will be working to update other pages and making them more user friendly.

While playing on Facebook my cousin comes on and tells me I need to look at some things on family search. She was right. All the work we did on the Morris family has been undone. Children removed from families, dates changed, nonrelatives connected to the family, etc. I am very protective of my lines and all the hard work I've put in to them as I'm sure others are of their work. In the past, as stated before, I was a name collector but that has changed and for the last 10 years or more I have focused on document my family. Now that familysearch has been updated again I have to go through and fix all of the problems in the Morris family and this time all the documentation will be included. I have pictures, certificates, etc. As usually I find myself starting with Gomer Morris who is my fourth great grandfather (his grandson Harold Morris adopted my grandmother and her two brothers and Harold's brother married my great grandma's sister so I'm doubly related). Speaking of my grandmother, her information is way off in the database too. They have her name misspelled and neither brother is listed. Now I get the pleasure of straightening that out on top of the rest of the stuff. My personal database is still missing so I have to use all hard copies to bring the new one back up to speed.
Sorry about the venting. I'm just mad that we finally get a lot of the errors fixed and have to start over from scratch again. I understand that's how it goes but that doesn't make it any less frustrating.
While searching the Morris page earlier for information I found a broken link and want to apologize to anyone who has tried to follow that link. All links on the Morris page now work.
It's good to be back to working on genealogy on a consistent basis. I have really missed it. I would like to work on gathering new information but that won't happen until at least the first of the year (only a couple of weeks) but in the mean time I will be working diligently on correcting the information on the Morris family line and recreating my personal database. I would like to start by adding 50 names per day to the personal database from my hard copies. I will work on getting all of the documentation into the program as well. I haven't decided if I'm going to work in Rootsmagic and/or PAF. I know PAF is no longer being updated but I like to be able to print books from Word and I only have a free version of Rootsmagic which doesn't allow me to do this at this point. Eventually I will have to buy the program and hopefully it'll do what I want in word.
Recently I had someone leave a post em note on my file with a legitimate question but it was written in slang. There was a lady in my file who's death date came before her marriage date. Now we all know that's not possible. It's not even a name I really recognize but I do know she ties into another line that I know. I don't have any documentation for this information nor have I worked on this line much since the "name gathering days". so I apologize for not getting to it right away to make the change. It will take some research, time, and hopefully some record finding before I'll make any changes. It's not a high priority right now because of all the other stuff I'm having to deal with but it will get fixed.
If I don't get on here again before Christmas - have a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!

I have been offline with a migraine and when I come back I find two things... One of my favorite actors died -- RIP Paul Walker -- and I received a postem note about a person dying before they were married. This tree is filled with a lot of errors from when I was first starting and just copying what others have. I am currently starting a fresh file (after losing the other one) and am hoping to make it a lot cleaner and with fewer mistakes especially obvious ones like that. Right now my focus is split in three directions: 1) creating a new cleaner file 2) doing German (and brushing up on my German reading skills) and 3) Working on the history of Gomer Morris and family.
Very little research is actually being done until after the first of the year but i am keeping track of all correspondence. If you have contacted me and have not heard back try checking back and I will be happy to give a progress report if there is one.
The plans for the rest of the week are to go through papers that are sitting on the bookcase waiting to be added to the correct file. Most are histories written and turned in to the D.U.P. There are also some odds and ends that need to be looked into.
I have not really used the newest version of family search so I will be learning that in January. It's time to clean out duplicates so there will be more room for other family information including books, histories, etc.

I left school in March of 2013 and was doing some genealogy late at night when I had a really scary experience that has kept me from doing a lot of genealogy over the summer and into the fall. However, I have been talking with a cousin about the research we are doing on Gomer Morris. Right now I'm kind of at a stand still with him so was thrilled to receive an email this morning from someone interested in part of my German family.
The names are Gisler, Prouitius, Spitzmuller, and Schlageter.
Found on page 2 of the family book (film #0901800) was Johann Schlageter born 19 Jun 1785, died 25 Aug 1858, married 3 Feb1809 to Catrina Roderer who was born 7 Feb 1785 and died 11 Aug 1862. Her father was Franz Roderer. Johann Schlageter and Catrina Roderer had six children:
Elizabeth born 1831 and died in the United States.
Anton born 13 Jan 1813.
Magdalena born 26 Sep 1815
Mattheus born 21 Feb 1821
Name unknown (at this time) birth unknown (at this time) Came to America.
Benedict (Benedikt) Gisler born 1745 married to Theresia Spitzmuller and they had two known children (at this time) and they were Benedict (Benedikt) Gisler who married Genevefa Prouitius. The other child was Ursula Gisler who married Mathias Schlageter (according to the information found by my contact via email) The known birthdate they gave was 23 Feb 1825. This is the only information I have on the Schlageter family. There are plans to do more research after 1 January 2014 on this family.
Theresia Spitzmuller was the daughter of Andreas Spitzmuller and Catharina Reiffenschweiler. I have this line documented back into the 1600s.
My online database (both the familysearch.org and ancestry.com) will not be updated until I get my computer back which will probably be after 1 Jan 2014 due to mother board issues. Not having my computer (am using a temp) makes it more difficult to do the research and update things. However, I may see if I can add the program to the computer and then delete it before giving it back since my database is stored elsewhere.
If I'm not back on here before Thanksgiving - Happy Thanksgiving!

On Tuesday, December 11, 2012 I tried to open my genealogy file only to find it had been removed. I was highly upset because all my back ups were missing to. The only thing that was available was the gedcom I uploaded to the internet. This is rather frustrating because since uploading the database I had gone through and made a lot of corrections, added some additional information and even removed duplicates. Now I get the pleasure, if that's what you want to call it, to do it all again.
I am grateful to my sister in law because tonight she took us all to get family pictures. This, if they're back in time, will be a big help for a project I'm trying to get done for Christmas.
Yesterday I received two notices of things that are wrong in my database. I am thankful for those who catch the errors and even though I may be slow I am working to correct them as soon as possible.
Yesterday morning I actually spent some time working on merging some duplicate records and will try and do more on December 14, 2012.

Sunday, September 16, 2012
There's little to report because I have been focused on studying for school since the end of August. Over the next several months I will be adding to the site and adding some things that are not genealogy related but will give a better profile of my. The new links will be on the about me page and will be reference some of my writings. Things that will be included are poetry, parts of my novel, memoirs (mostly genealogy related). I figured this would be the perfect place to put the new stuff because genealogy is the inspiration for most of it. I have a poem that was written about my grandfather, the names in my novel come from a combination of ancestor names, and of course the memoirs are about my ancestors.
Ok this is going to sound a little far fetched... While I was working on my History homework I had the intense feeling about my great grandma and what she wanted was just to say, "Hi". It was so nice to feel her energy because I love and miss her very much - lol ok time to get off the imagined soap box.
I am really looking forward to Tuesday because my cousin is supposed to come over so I can help her with her genealogy. She needs it for a school project. I only hope that the bug will bite her and that she really and truly will want to know more about her family.

Thursday, July 12, 2012
Tuesday morning I spent a little over an hour working on correcting problems in the German side of the family. Found a death date that I had listed for a woman was wrong. It was actually the death date of one of her daughters... will give names later because I have to look them up again. It's nice to have that information corrected so it doesn't get passed on wrong anymore than it already has.
So, I have been thinking about getting a degree in genealogy and some of the feed back I have received is positive and upbeat while most of it is negative. People even go so far as to say - "you need to quit school..." (going for dietetics right now) ..."and find a real job" Between the two degrees I am looking at another six years of schooling with the last three years being what I really want to go into - genealogy. Why am I talking about this now? Just a heads up as to why you might see less or maybe even more genealogy updates on here as time permits.

Sunday, Jul 8, 2012 Over the last month a lot of time has been spent on my German family. The correction of information in both my personal program and online. Received a post em on another family member that needs to be corrected. The wife of Ephraim Barber born in 1805 has been listed as still living. However, since the date was in the 1800s we know that is not possible. Her name is Mary Collins. They had two known children: William Ephraim Barber and Margaret Manson Barber. This will be on the next update.
Started working on the life story of Gomer Morris. While doing so I found more information on his widow in an area that was unexpected. Also found her siblings from the mother country and those that came to the United States. There were three siblings including Louisa Henrietta Shore that came to the United States with their father, William Shore, in 1880. We have a birth place of Chelwood, Somerset, England for William. There is one record that states he was born in Wales. I have not verified this information yet so have not changed the England information. William's wife, Ann Rowland, died in England along with four of her's and William's children.
Very little work has been done on my in-laws family but I am starting to figure some things out. It is tough going because at this time I do not read or speak Spanish but that is not going to be a determent. It will make the second foreign language to learn to read for the sake of research and it is well worth it. German was the first - or rather Old German and Latin... so maybe in a sense it is the third language lol. The Cordoba line has been worked on extensively by someone else so am not focusing on that line - for now. The main paternal lines are the present focus but it won't end there as all lines are extremely important.
The Saturday following Father's day was the Green family reunion. It was held in McCammon, Bannock, Idaho. As usual I was there a few hours early. The time is never wasted because it is spent walking the Norton Cemetery. This year I took several pictures of headstones and some will be posted to findagrave.com. All the pictures are headstones of my family members. They include mostly the surnames of Henson, Green and Lords. It was an emotional morning because some of the most wonderful people I know are buried there - my Great Grandparents (Rosamond Green and Leonard Bailey Henson) - there are other wonderful people there too. Rosamond and Leonard known affectionately as "Rosy and Dutch" were a big part of my early life.

Saturday, Jun 2, 2012
The days are starting to run together from the long hours of research and my mind never shutting down even when asleep. Today would have been the 18th birthday for Patrick McKnight He was an awesome young man and my son's best friend. He is buried in the Lava Hot Springs, Bannock, Idaho cemetery. RIP Sweet young man!
For the majority of the day I removed duplicates from the database. The online database has not been updated yet. Instead of focusing on Gomer Morris today and his direct family the focus was on the Risenmay/Hurst family lines. Samuel Harris Hurst, Jr married Magdalena Rebecca Risenmay who was his stepsister. They had one daughter. After the death of Magdalena Rebecca Samuel remarried.
Esther Risenmay moved to Ashland, Licking, Ohio where married John Wesley Pierce on 22 Apr 1919. They were found living in Ashland in 1920 with his sister (Mary Pierce Lee)and her family. In 1930 John W. and Esther had their own place and their four children living in Ashland.
Boy I really am scattered. Yesterday I had the opportunity to reconnect with the Butler family, well actually just one member. Her name is Stella and she is 92 years of age. She is the last surviving member of her generation. She is the aunt of Earlin Louella Butler Morris Henson Marsh. She is so sweet and kind. She gave me the name of her kids and we are talking about trying to put on a Butler family reunion because she doesn't have many years left and this is our time to get to know and honor in only the way a family could and should.

Today was spent working on cleaning the Morris file. I learned that I have more than one Morris line. There are actually three Morris lines or more. Some may tie together later on but not sure yet. Found quite a few obituaries and added gleaned information from them. there are no more duplicates in the Morris line. So far by combining duplicate records almost 700 hundred individuals have been removed from the database. The file went from having 18198 down to 180891. This number does not reflect the new individuals that were added.
Connecting Our Families Forever tree on Ancestry.com has been updated as of this afternoon and the Earlin family tree has been downloaded to my computer so the process of combining it will the Connecting Our Families Forever tree can begin. This is going to be a long slow process and I want to thank you for you patience while they are being combined. So far the Connecting Our Families Forever tree is technically unsourced. However, that is only because I have not linked the sources to the tree. I do have several copies of census and church records, obituaries and even some vital records in my possession. Adding sources will be another project and will get done. It will mean doing some duplicate research but it is well worth it. The primary goal right now, in addition to adding to the family tree, is to combine the databases and to work on the Morris family book.
The Morris family page needs a major make over before to much more information can be added. That will go hand in hand with the family tree combining...
Oh. I haven't talked about the Jacks and McBee families lately. Yesterday, I gleaned more information on the McBee's who are related to the Jacks family. The Jacks connection to me is Doris Geneva Jacks married to Charles Larry Marsh. Charles Larry Marsh was the second husband of my grandmother, Earlin Louella Butler Morris.
Need to make a quick mention that on about May 9, 2012 my mother-in-law's aunt passed away.

Wednesday, May 30, 2012
Monday I worked on the Leighty and Nebeker lines. Have connected my growing up best friends cousin's mom's family to my good friends family via the Nebeker line. Didn't really focus on the Nebekers too much because things were going on too. Monday also saw my personal database get a major make over. The update has not been posted on Ancestry.com yet. Yesterday was spent removing duplication from the Henson line. So as of 10:43 pm tonight neither then Bruch nor the Henson lines have duplications.
Last night Grandpa Gomer Morris and I had a conversation, per se. I promised him that if he would help me make some headway with the ongoing research pertaining to him then I would spend today working on his descendants. So, after finding a lot of good information and disproving other information I held up my end of the deal by working on the children of George Morris and Anna "Annie" Mitchell. Didn't get very far but did manage to piece together marriage and family information for their oldest daughter Florence Larue (Morris) Tew. This morning I knew of one son for Arthur George and Larue (Morris) Tew. Three other children have been added to the database along with spouses for two of them. Arthur Wendell Tew had a child with a woman who's last name was Nicholas. Prior to today I not only did not have a name for the mother of Gloria Renee Tew I had no marriage information for Gloria Renee Tew. Gloria was married and had two children before her passing.
An obituary was found for Ebenezer William Morris. Taylor found an obituary for Elizabeth (Risenmay) Morris. Marriage notices and wedding anniversary notices were also found for the Morris family. As result of searching for someone found in the newspapers in 1940 I started crawling through the 1940 Federal Census for Salt Lake City and am only partially through it but did find George and Amy Marsh with three daughters still living at home. Until tonight I did not know of any children for this couple and am grateful to have found them.
Tomorrow was supposed to be spent at the local family history center but due to circumstances of a friend's health that is not possible so the plan is to clean up the Morris line and then update the online database. Oh... Speaking of. In the 1920 census for Logan, Utah I mixed a couple of families and currently the children of one Louisa Morris (a widow) are listed with Gomer and Louisa Morris. However, the update will see those two children removed from the family. In addition to cleaning up the Morris line tomorrow the day will be spent searching for Louisa Morris for the years of 1910 and 1920. I am also waiting for an email regarding additional information on Louisa's husband Gomer Morris.

First thing I want to say is, "Happy Birthday Mom!" Today is my mother-in-law's 70th birthday and it's a real privilege to spend the day with her and the family.
This morning and last night was spent searching through the 1900, 1910, 1920 and 1930 census for the Frank Leighty family. In addition to the census I found WWI and WWII draft records for both Glenn B Leighty and his younger brother John Palmer Leighty.
Tonight I have done little research but have done some updating on the website. No new pages were added. The Green page has been connected to the Henson page. Both the Roth and Leighty pages have been linked to each other as well as to the Green page. More pictures have been added and one was converted from being a link to being posted on the Henson page (Anne Atkins).
A new gedcom has just been uploaded to ancestry.com. This is the first time since 2004. The link is on the homepage under Connecting our Families Forever. The other two databases will slowly be merged into the current one so no one will be lost. After the three databases have been merged Earlin and Grace will both be removed.

Got a late start on the genealogy today/tonight. It didn't feel right to leave Anna Leighty Roth Green unattached to her family in the New Family Search so I added her birth and death information as well as her parents and linked her to her ancestors. Most of her ancestors had already been added to the database by other family members. I also added a brother and sister to New Family Search for her. The obituary for her sister Dorothy Irene Roth Yancer has also been added (link and actual obit) to the Green family page. While trying to verify vital record information on Dorothy and her brother William I searched all of I couldn't really find much so checked to see if they were still living in Lewistown, Fulton, Illinois in 1940 and not only were they not living there but there were no Roth's in any of the three districts for Lewistown.
Was going to start searching the 1940 Federal Census for Bannock county, Idaho today but it was a blah day - rainy outside and I just couldn't focus on anything until Taylor called. She got me going again and with a little research on the Leighty's we found the connection between her line and Grandpa Henson's aunt. So now we are related through the Morris/Cox lines and the Tieman/Leighty lines.

Finally today at 6:00 pm I finished crawling through every town in the 1940 Federal Census for Bingham County, Idaho. I am thrilled to have it complete. More than 300 names were gleaned from the census. They include the following names of which some are related, had the same surname as those who were related, and some were living with those who are related: Morris/Moriss, Butler, Esplin, Higley, Lords, Fowler, Locks, Harbaugh, Thornton, Cox, Findley, Murphy, Hopla, Kirsvan (? -spelling), Jamison, Bair, Lamb, Martineau, Callister, Clark, Felt, Knight, Buxton, McCarther, Fitch, Webb, Durham, Boyce, and Covington. The Kellam(s) family was listed on page 16 for the Thomas Bingham Idaho record. They did not get extracted from the census.
I had every intention on moving on to Bannock County, Idaho in the 1940 census but got side tracked with another possible connection to my cousin Taylor. Did a quick search on Anna Leighty (Roth) Green and found where someone had added her to the new Family Search with minimal information. Little, so far, is known on her family so I did a little digging with the prompting of my cousin. We may be connected through the Leighty line as well -even though it's not my direct line. The Leighty's came down from Pennsylvania into Illinois. There is a link to Anna's brother's biography on the Green family page. I also added Anna to findagrave as well as linked her to her parents. From there I sent requests to the people who set up the records for her parents and her brother to link the families. I am hope they will do this soon. Also thanks to the 1920 census for Vermont, Fulton, Illinois I was able to add maternal grandparents to my database for Anna.
In addition to the genealogy work I've done today a couple of changes to the website has been done. The Green family page got a little make over - will be doing more later.
Oh yeah! Checking into pedigree collapses... My mom and dad's family have been connected not just by them but also by three other couples before them. The Cousin of Rosalia Lords, Joseph Henry Lords, married Tressa Loleen Farnsworth who just happened to be the sister of Anna Louella Farnsworth; Ida Clark married William Alma Arave the brother to Enora Arave who married Levi Ashton Cox; Nelson Levi Cox married Ida Nellie Hampton, the niece of Ida Clark (sister of Frank Clark who also married Rosalia Lords). LOL If you're not confused yet just wait... The Clark's, Lords, and Arave's are my mom's side of the family. The Farnsworths are my dad's side of the family... We really have the Cox family to thank for connecting all of them with the exception the Lords/Farnsworth connection.

For the last two days I've been playing with the census and in the 1920 census for Goshen,Bingham, Idaho I found two unknown sisters for Franklin Earl Butler. Their names are Anna and Delia. Upon checking the 1930 census the family minus the two girls were all living in Basalt, Bingham, Idaho. As result of the missing girls on the 1930 census I called the person in charge of the cemetery and inquired about them. As of today there are no Butler's or Risenmay's buried in Basalt, Bingham, Idaho. Over the last 24 hours I have gone through the following towns in Bingham County, Idaho on the 1940 Federal census: Aberdeen, Basalt, Blackfoot, Firth, Fort Hall, Gibson, Goshen, Groveland, Jamestown, and Woodville.

This last week has been a busy one. The SLC FHC catalogers were here training my friend and I on entering our books (the Pocatello FHC) into their catalog. Then on Thursday we (Bannock North Comapany DUP Syringa Camp) went to the museum in Rockland, Idaho. From there my friend and I went cemetery hopping starting in Rockland then went to Neeley and ended in Falls View Cemetery in American Falls before coming home. Friday I went down to the FHC to work on the cataloging. Yesterday I spent the majority of the day entering and linking records on findagrave. The main family I focused on was the Marsh's. This morning I had every intention to work on the cataloging stuff for a little while before going back to findagrave. However, that did not happen. Instead I spent the morning and most of the afternoon working on this site. Am trying to make it more user friendly as well as adding and correcting information. Some links that used to take you to pictures have been changed and instead of having the link a picture is in its place. There are a some other link changes. There were a few that no longer worked and they were deleted. My newest favorite link can be found on the home page and it is for findagrave. If you click on it you will have the option of searching their whole database or just the records that I maintain. I am always on the look out for more updated information and will try and keep everything current and correct.
While updating the site today, The Butler family page was one of the ones updated. Since the last post two of three siblings of Great Grandpa Earl have passed away. They were Herbert Vernon Butler of Blackfoot, Idaho - no full obituary was found; and Keith Odell Butler of Sandpoint, Idaho - a link to his obituary can be found on the Butler family page. I have also uploaded a couple of pictures to findagrave - 1 of Charles Larry Marsh and 1 of Earlin Louella (Butler, Morris, Henson) Marsh.
Reading through past posts I need to correct some information: The BYFH website is no longer in service nor is the email that went with it. The best way to contact me is via the email link at the bottom of this page.

I have done very little genealogy over the last 2 years, however, I am back with a vengeance. In the last 24 hours I have added quite a number of names to my database and found some very awesome pictures. I don't know what I'd do without my cousin Taylor. She has really kept me on my toes and is the reason I found this wealth of information.
Over the last couple of years we have lost some wonderful people and I will over the course of time be adding their information to this site. There is one thing I do want to share tonight and that is this link about Oliver Thornton and Mary Griswold who are my 5th great grandparents.

Just a quick update to let you know the original BYFH business site is being changed into a personal website that will coincide with this one. The best way to make sure the information is available to everyone is to have many ways to access it for free. Little more has been found on Gomer Morris but the family is still looking into the Morris line. Over the next month I may not get a lot of genealogy done but when you see the new site I hope that all the hard work and dedication to genealogy will be noticeable. I am still hoping that many of you will donate your pictures and histories so that we may share them freely online. If anyone wants hard copies there will be a charge just cause I can't afford to print off tons of pictures with out being reimbursed. Many of the pictures will not be able to be copied off the website. However... there is a few on the original site before the two are merged that may be copied.
I have been in touch with someone who is interested in Johnson information. I don't have a lot at this time but am working on it so please be patient. You can send all your requests to [email protected] and please understand that I am one person working to meet all of your needs. The list of requests is long and I work from top to bottom but will get everything on here that I have in reguards to your request.
Don't forget some of the family pages also have histories on them. From here on out most of the histories will be listed on the "Family History" page. You will still be able to find additional information on the family pages as well. We will keep you as informed as possible and also keep the site as user-friendly as possible.
Thanks,
Charity

Margaret Morris was the last to be burried in the Daniel Wood Cemetery. The link was passed to me by a cousin Taylor Reed.
The following Morris's are buried in Logan Utah and may or may not be related to us... Lousia Morris daughter of William Stone, burried 27 Jan 1928
Richard Morris son of Samuel Morris and Mary Jones, born in Wales on 5 June 1895 and died 10 aug 1814).

WOW! This page is really out of date and I totally apologize for that. Honestly I forgot all about it until a cousin stumbled upon this site. In 2006 I started keeping a handwritten genealogy journal and will work on updating the website from that journal from time to time while posting current information in both the journal and on here. Let me start with an entry from yesterday...

(original date was 28 Dec 2009) Due to medical reasons BYFH had to close it's doors. Very little genealogy has been done the last several months. Yesterday a cousin contacted me about the Morris's. We chatted for several hours. While talking she said many Morris family members have passed on and after asking if there were any I should know she said yes... Lawrence Franklin Morris died 25 Sep 2009 in Hooper, Utah. (The above link will take you to his obituary.)

Thanks to the Mormon Pioneers we were able to prove that Gomer Morris really did exist. There's some question as to where his name came from. We were able to confirm his mother and therefore also his father. We had heard of a story about the Morris were connected to royalty so we looked up the story and here is what is said... Sir John Morris (the grandfather of Gomer Morris) was found to be a peasant who was knighted for erecting a statue of Queen Elizabeth's late husband.

Hundreds of pictures that were taken in both Lava Hot Springs and Franklin cemeteries have dissapeared so this next summer will find me wandering those particular cemeteries again.

Here is what has been going on today...

Things were looking a little bleak this morning when it came to the Gomer Morris research. Finally this afternoon I received a call back from a cousin who helped me with family reunion information and then gave me the name and number of another cousin who does a lot of genealogy and loves to talk about it too.

While chatting with this new cousin (contact) I mentioned Gomer Morris and what we were looking for. It's kind of funny that I would ask about the certificate proving Gomer is really related cause of the following information that was provided: Harold Morris said he remembered Gomer as being a very lively man who played the violin/fiddle and that his personality was completely different from Louisa's (Gomer's wife). He was also said to have been arrested at the Winser Hotel in Ogden, Utah, rumored to have been seen in Rexburg, Idaho and may have been deported back to his home in Wales.

The death date I found for a Gomer Morris in Wales may not be ours. They have him being listed at the age of 24 but his birth day seemed to be estimated on that particular record.

In the last fourteen days, since the last message, some new things have started happening. The 40,000 plus database is no longer being broken down into four or five smaller ones. What is happening is all of the databases (including the few already started) will be hand typed into a new huge file. As the information for each individual is verified it is added to the new database. The first set of names is the Green's from McCammon and this is because of the family book that is set to be completed December 2006. From The Green's it'll go to the Butler's, the Bruch, and then the Henson's. After these lines are finished Others will be chosen randomly. As each individual is transferred "ready to be deleted" is added to the name box so no duplication will be done. Each individual is taken from all databases before moving on to the next.
Also run several rootsweb lists and boards. Time permitting you'll be able to find them listed on this website.
Have been emailing replies to those who've posted to the guestbook. It's been a wonderful experience chatting with each and everyone. Some have led to more information on the lines, others I've been able to help, etc.
Have just set up a new Chatroom and will be updating and upgrading quite often over the next couple of months. As of right now the basic room is linked only to my business site and the BYFH Yahoo group I own. but the new one will be placed, I'm hoping, on here.
With in the last week two descendancy charts have been sent out to "cousins", research for a person at Rootsweb.com led to the finding of a new cousin, a marriage for Virginia Green, and pictures of the headstones in the Lava Hot Spring Cemetery. Once the pictures are all added to a cd a copy of the cd will be going to a gentleman so he can add them to the online Bannock county cemetery listing.
Tomorrow I'm going back to the cemetery in Lava Hot Springs. Wednesday will see me in Franklin, Idaho. Will be taking pictures in both the museum and also at the Franklin cemetery.
Sent out a third letter about military records for Chas. Thornton who fought alongside General Custer at Little Big Horn. Finally recived a response but it wasn't what I was looking for... It was more forms to fill out and a request for money. Will be sending the check out in three weeks along with the form. Then the wait will start over and can take as long as another couple of months or so.

So much for getting the pictures posted. Didn't get very many... None were of the family. I am planning on taking another trip to Franklin this summer with my aunt and we'll be taking pictures of headstones and things in the museum. The ones I do have are of the jail, outside of the museum, and of the mercantile. This last week I responded to a query about look up on a Lars Benson from Lava Hot Springs. This lead to a couple of wonderful suprises. The first thing I did was to check online to make sure he was indeed buried in the Lava Cemetery and he was. While online doing this research I found a Virginia Green Benson. This caught my interest and so I did a little research on her. Her maiden name was Green. She turned out to be the daughter of Brigham Wilford Green and Myrtle Stewart. I had no idea she was ever married. Now I do know she married a Benson and is buried in the Lava Cemetery. The name of her husband is still unknown (will be going to the Bannock County Courthouse tomorrow) but his parents were James Thomas Benson and Alta May Higgins. The suprising thing and the tie in to the Lars Green is this little tidbit ~ The parents of James Thomas Benson are Lars Benson and Edla Marie Eliasson or Eriksson.

This morning I mentioned it at church and it just so happened that the talk was on our spiritual heritage which includes genealogy. The teacher showed us some of the ways her heritage has been preserved. While she was giving her talk she mentioned McCammon, Idaho. After she finished we talked (there were four of us total) and found out that we all are connected. She is related to the Norton's (whom set up the Norton Cemetery) and I'm related to to the Green's, Henson's, Lish's, and Bailey's. Infact the Mr. Norton who donated the land for the cemtery is her ancestor and he is the one that argued with my 3rd great grandfather over the name. This argument was the cause of a joint cemetery not being fulfilled. In this argument Mr. Bailey (Franklin Samuel Bailey) told Mr. Norton he would create his own cemetery. Mr Bailey died before he could create the cemetery. As a consequence he was buried on his own land outside the Norton Cemetery. With in the last few years his grave was fenced in with the rest of the Norton Cemetery. Finding cousins this morning was wonderful and then to come home and check the guest book here I found about five more cousins with whom I needed to contact.

Today I am going to Franklin, Idaho with the Syringa Camp in North Bannock Idaho. This is the first trip I have made to Franklin and we'll be going to the museum. After the museum I'll then head over to the cemetery to take pictures of headstones for the Henson's. Actually it's embarrassing to admit to never being to Franklin because it's really not a long distance from Pocatello. It's even more embarrassing to admit knowledge of the burials that took place there has been in my posession for many years and it's just now coming to light.
Anyway, the trip is going to be a good one. The weather is kind of gloomy but not to bad.
Most of the hours that can be spent researching is at night after everything is closed and that puts a little bit of a damper on things but there are ways around that. just have to figure out how to do that. While online sources are okay to use it's better to get through primary sources if possible. Some of the ways I have found to gathering information is to write letters and send checks to obtain the vital records, deeds, etc. A lot of times they don't have time to look things up for you but if you can tell them exactly what you are looking for and where it is located they can usually take the time to get it for you. What you can do is, if there is more information in the records but you don't know where, suggest that while they are searching for the exact record and happen to see another name (be very specific with the names) please send copies of those records to you. If they find more than the amount of the check you sent them is offer to send them additional money to cover the expenses. This really does work.
Genealogy research also includes learning more about the towns our families have lived in. In remembering this I have been spending time researching the following places - Wigan, billinge, Lowton, Warrington, Runcorn. All of them are located in north west England. Most of them, in Lancashire. Runcorn is in Cheshire county. Am also looking for information on Lower Walton, Cashmere,England but haven't had any luck. Even tried looking for it with out Cashmere in the list. Does anyone have any ideas. These are the towns in England that some of the Green's lived. It's vital to have this information to help bring the family book together.
Will post the pictures sometime between tonight and Saturday, May 6, 2006.

April 13, 2006
Hi Everyone,
I'm embarrassed. I didn't realize it had been almost a year since the last update in the journal. It's good to know people are reading it and contacting me with questions.
So what has the last several months brought? After the Green Family Reunion in McCammon, Idaho, last June I started on a book for the family. In July we had a Henson reunion - the first one in years. We had a great time hearing the stories and getting reacquainted. August saw yet another family reunion - this time it was in Cascade, Idaho with my mom's family. We had a wonderful time up at the cabin visiting with all the cousins. At night before going to bed we played pool for hours. Only there two nights but it was more peaceful and relaxing than any other time. It was very easy to stay up until the wee hours and then get up again about six am. The view was absolutely gorgious - could stand on the deck and see the lake.
There weren't any more reunions after this but the Holidays were wonderful. Infact there still isn't a Butler reunion and I would like to see that change soon.
Now it is starting to warm up and am busy once again. The memorial garden is coming in beautifully with the winter hard geraniums, the iris that was transplanted from McCammon, and little yellow day lilies. The next thing to go in there is a bucket tipped on it's side with hens and chicks growing out from it.
The Green Family Book is still being compiled. It will include everything from most basic information to full histories, news articles, and even some copies of land deeds. This is just a glimpse of what to expect in the book. Am trying to have it all compiled before June 23,2006 which is the date of the next reunion. This way if changes need to be made before the publication then it won't be a problem.
There was a problem with the last (and still other issues) gedcom that was submitted. It included some information on living people. It shouldn't have and when contacted I removed the information then resubmitted the gedcom. So even though very little has changed it was updated online. The end of this summer you can expect to see the first of the smaller gedcoms that won't be so entangled and it will have very few if any errors in it. This information will be on the Green family and their relations. The second smaller one you can expect to see will be on the Bruch family and their relations. The expected date for the Bruch one will be August of 2007.
This brings me to another point... There have been some contacts asking questions about the Gisler, Hugelman, and Schwend. It's been a while since any new research has been done on these families but new research will be starting again either the end of April or the beginning of May. So if you have any questions about records in both Oberschopfheim and Neiderschopfheim let me know as both sets of records will be utilized.
This last month I have been doing look ups in the Pocatello area for obituaries and land records. In addition to this I have joined a genealogy chat room on rootsweb that has been a huge help. It is the best chat room I have seen in a long time where people are willing to help one another. Many are breaking through brick walls and finding cousins. Speaking of breaking through brick walls - John George Yenne is still evading us. I believe I have found the correct Strausbourg. It is located in France directly across the Rhine River from Germany. It has been said he was born in a little town near Strausbourg. This one has many small towns around it including those in Germany.
That pretty much brings you up-to-date with what has been going on. To look into the future is not feasible, but I can guarentee there is a lot more genealogy talk coming.

Hi Everyone!
It's been a while since I have done any updates. I have been extremely busy with genealogy work. Over the next several months you, hopefully, will see many changes.

My family database (this does not include my husbands family) will be broke down into four smaller databases and maybe eventually more. Right now they will be under the following names: Earlin, Henson, Clark, and Bruch.

The Bruch Familien Buch, First Edition, has been finished. However, I do not like the way it turned out so there will be a second edition - there's no time limit set. Speaking of family books I am now working on the Green family book and may start a Butler family book.

The way the talk of a Butler family book came about is... Today I received a call from a lady who invited us to Blackfoot and then on to Shelly. They showed us (my son and I) where my Great Grandpa Earl Butler was buried. I felt dumb when she showed us his headstone because I kept missing it, just barely every other time I would look. While we stood there talking my son got bit by the genealogy bug. He started writing down all of the information on each headstone even though I took pictures of them. We then went back to the house in Blackfoot, Idaho where we talked more. About 5:30 pm I took pictures of the family members and then we were off to dinner at the local chinese restraunt. Now for the really interesting information - One of the ladies we met is the sister of my late great grandpa Earl Butler. It was so exciting to meet her and other Butler relations. When I asked about a Butler family reunion they said one isn't held anymore. It was suggested maybe the younger generation (I'll be taking it upon myself - as usual) should start it up again. If other Butler relations contact me then I will be more than happy to talk with them and get this family reunion going.
It has been brought to my attention that the John Martin, father of Enoch Martin is incorrect. I will be doing some major research on that before any updates are made.

Hi Everyone,
Unfortunately I was not able to do as much updating this last month as planned. Many new things will come in May if nothing else gets in the way. I am trying to adjusted to a new full time job and preparing for the holidays. This did affect October's update.

As of this tonight you should have access to the full updated version of the family tree. About 4 thousand or 5 thousand individuals were added to the database.

If you find any mistakes or incorrect information please contact me and let me know. Before any changes will be made you will need to send your sources. Thank you.

Hey everyone!
We have some great news! First, you will see a new link on the home page "Grace". This is a new file all together. It is for a family friend's history. I was raised calling her grandma. My dad and her son were best friends. While growing up her grandaughter and I were best friends. These lines have been difficult to find anything on so if you find something or tie in we would love to hear from you.

Second, While I was researching the Hawthorne's for a short biography in the monthly newsletter I connected Nathaniel Hawthorne, the author, to my family. He was the grandson of a judge in Salem, Massachusetts. This was a wonderful find. It also opened up many more leads on this and other families. You will find updated information on these lines on the first of November after the file is reuploaded.
Third, and final, There is a greater chance of finding more information on the Lord/Lords families because of the Hawthornes/Hathornes. While my direct Lords/Lord line is still at a dead end in the 1700s in England there is a chance they could be related to the Lord family that arrived to the United States in the 1600s. The reason I believe there is a chance is because both families are in and around the Salem area in the same time frame. Where my direct line didn't come over until sometime between 1761 and 1783 I honestly do believe there is a connection because listed on this site "Hawthorne in Salem" is a relation dying in Salem in the late 1800s early 1900s. At least I think this is what I remember reading.

Look for updates to appear on the Lord and Lords pages before the end of October. This is where you will find more information as to whether or not the two Lord lines are in fact related.

Over the last few days I have received several emails in regards to the information I have provided online. I appreciate all of the input and requests for information. Please do not panic if I do not get to you right away. The goal is to have the initial contact with in 24 hours and then send a follow up as soon as something has been found or verified.

For all of you genealogists out there it is easy to say I am swamped but if you were to see the desks and floor around the desks you would understand exactly what swamped means - lol. My hubby, no interest in genealogy what-so-ever, constantly gets upset because of all the papers, binders, books, etc that are laying around. He never sees them being used because of his schedule but I can guarentee everything is used on a daily basis updating this wonderful site and/or adding informaiton to the database.

PACE is the key to everything! PACE is Postive Attitude Changes Everything. PACE is what has kept the genealogy bug alive and well. It is also the reason so many others are joining in and searching for their ancestors.

October 7, 2004

The last few days have been extremely busy. On top of everything I have been in the hospital and then starting a full time job. Just wanted to check in with y'all and let you know that an addition 100 or more individuals have been added to the database with in the last 24 hours. This is just a small part that will be updated on ancestry as of Halloween.

I am getting closer to finding John George Yenne. One hurdle has been over come now we are well on our way to the next one.

There are several hundred if not thousands of individuals to be added by hand into the database. Even with all the data entry this project is far from being finished. LOL It's not even close to being caught up. Will keep plugging along and adding more. If you have anything that needs to be added to the information already listed or make a correction please email me.

Look for more tomorrow.

October 4, 2004

Good morning! There are some great new break throughs! Greg Hunt has made a break through on the spelling of Sentee/Santee. See the wonderful new page for Santee for more information. Also, with the help from a wonderful person, we have located John George Yenne in 1840. See the Yenne and Jenne page for more information. This page will be updated with in the next forty-eight hours to reflect the new finding.

October 2, 2004

Although I have been silent here I have been extremely busy. I would like to take a minute and thank everyone who has helped to update this site through their contributions, corrections, and great generosity. With out all of your help this site would not be available. Through out the month of October you should see several changes, additions, and notifications. I am currently working with someone to break through the Yenne brick wall. While searching through information already in my possession I found a possible lead. LOL Yes, this is just a teaser and no further information will be given until it has been proven to be the first in many clues. The main surname focus this month is as follows: Yenne, Lords, Sentee/Santee, Marsh, Butler, etc. There are many names that can not be connected at this time. The work will continue and the database will grow and be updated, still, twice a year. I have just recently started sending out a genealogy newsletter. It containe advertisements, but it is free to anyone with an email address. There are a lot of good tips, queries, and who knows you may just find a break in your brick wall. There could even be a clue leading to the breaking of your brick wall. If you are interested you can send an email to me at my other email address which is Charity. This is by no mean an advertisement for business.

Today is Memorial Day. For a change the weather is not rainy. It is not hot either. It is just about right for going to the cememteries and paying respcet to our ANCESTORS. As of today I am showing off my addiction to genealogy with this ribbon: ribbon

I am proud to show it off because without our ancestors we would not be here!

Today has been a fun filled day... Well kind of. The last 13 hours has been spent in front of the computer preparing records for the newest update. That update was completed a little over half an hour ago. Since then I have been looking for the correct page to use to update the rest of the site. There is a lot of information that has not been added as part of the update. It will, however be added periodically between now and the next update which is due around October 15, 2004.

Some things that are being researched between now and the next update are the true parents of Joseph Morse as it has been brought to my attention that the parents listed for him may not be his true lineage. There are seven microfilms to look at and they are: 1394489, 1394274, 1394500, 1394459, 1512604, 1394486, & 1512666.

Some new things to be added will include photos, poems, histories, etc.

This is the Day of the Dead. A tradition/holiday that goes back into Old Mexico- today is the day where we honor all of our friends and family. In many ways this tradition/holiday is much like genealogy. It is set up to honor those who have gone on before us. Two ways they are honored are by sharing foods they used to eat and also displaying pictures.

The new gedcom has been uploaded. Through out this next week I will be adding other information and pages to the site. HAPPY HALLOWEEN!

This afternoon has been full of genealogy. Have a possible Cordova connection - waiting for more details so I can give out the correct information. Received an email on the Romero line that connects with the Cordova's. Correcting and adding information on the Romero's, Nerdens, and Butler's into the database.

This morning I was doing some research on the Thornton line when I came across some interesting information... Before I go any futher I want to explain some things... My sister and I get these fascinations and "gut feelings" about things. Experience after experience has shown me I do need to pay attention and follow the "gut feelings". These feelings let me know what to look for or even to lead me in an opposite direction. LOL No I am not going postal on you nor am I telling you I have the same gift John Edward (Crossing over with John Edward). I do know his gift is real as I have my own, but this is about insinct for genealogy. At different times in my life I have told my dad things about his family that he didn't know and even things he didn't want to hear. Neither of us could figure out where (thanks to John Edward - I do now)the info came from. Several years later I proved the info I gave to my dad. Back to the latest... My sister and I have been discussing Native American bakground in our family but didn't know where it was. This morning I found proof of our heritage. It is a direct line through the Thornton's.

I would like to start off by wishing my husband, his cousin, and his dad Happy Birthday. My husband and his cousin's birthday was yesterday. My father in law's is today.

Before I get to family updates, I need to let you all know to be very carefull as the bugbear worm is still alive and kicking. Here is a copy of the email I sent to all of my genealogy and other groups.

Hi Everyone,
I am sorry to spread this news. I just received an email with Re: Activity in Jassamine Co KY as the subject. Do not open the attachment.
It has the W32.Bugbear.B@mm virus. I double checked with yahoo for this as there is another item with a relatively close name. This is the true worm and has been upgrade to category 4 (was 3) as far as being a bad virus/worm.

Charity- I almost opened it, thankfully Norton antivirus caught this worm and alerted me before I did open it.

Ok, now that that is taken care of I wanted to just give a brief update of the Gisler and related families research. I originally made a connection in this family. Upon indepth research I found this error and corrected it. The Michael Gisler which I had in advertantly connected as one of my own has been proven just the opposite. The good news from this is Michael Gisler's 2nd great grandpa is where our families actually do connect. Michael's and my connection is actually throught Michael Gisler and Anna Rederer (rederin-in means female). Tomorrow will see 8 hours of German research (9am until 5 pm) at the local family history center.

Yesterday, after following up with a connection made on the Crockett line we did confirm George W. Crockett was not the same person-like we had been told. Upon receiving this information I made sure to delete it from my email so not to add it to my file. There is a George W. Crockett in the file and he does belong there. Kathy, we both were thanked for sticking to the facts and not saying they were the same person. I, too, would like to thank you for this.

I have finally reached the point where I am having to make time to get all of the genealogy information out of my email-lol it is taking up more than 1/2 of the allotted amount. As soon as I get this done I will be adding more information to the data base and updating that - online. This is, not a current project, yet.

If you are connected to my family and need something looked up, please contact me and I will do what I can for you. I am in contact with hundreds of individuals on various lines so I appreciate your patience while you are waiting for a response. I do try to acknowledge the email with in 24 hours of receiving it.

Today has been productive. No new information has been found, however The Butler and Marsh pages have been updated and linked to the rest of the site. Look for more updates to come. Also look for a family page for the Clark, Lords, Henson, and Green families to come in the near future.

While double checking my information on the Gisler's against the information received there are several discrepencies. Tomorrow will be another day spent at the local family history center. The families are definitely intertwinde/related. Putting the pieces of the puzzle in the correct spot is what is going to be fun-lol.

Current Projects:

Original Research of Catholic Records for the Hugelman family in Oberschopheim. The Hugelman's are related Gisler, Gissler, and Butz families. The Gisler and Butz are related directly to the Bruch and the Gissler is related through the Roederer who is related through the Butz, Beiser, and Bruch. The project involves names not currently in my file, who are suspected of being related as they lived in the small town of Oberschopfheim the same time as my family.

Correcting errors in the family tree and then combine the new tree with one, hopefully, from the old hard drive. This is going to be a long process and may only be partially completed by the end of September/October.

Searching out sources for individuals on the family tree. So far most of the information has not been confirmed. All names associated with the Bruch and related families have been confirmed. I did all of the original research with the exception of a few individuals. Those few will be acknowledged as soon as possible.

I have spent the last two days at the local family history center researching the Gisler/Hugelman, and other related families (they are part of my German's that I have been working on). The reason I was researching this particular line was because I received an email inquiring about a Rosaria Hugelman. In the research I found Rosaria's name was actually Rosalia Hugleman. She was married to Johann Michael Gisler. Michael's (in Germany they would use the middle name) parents were Joannes Gisler and Christie Riederlin. Also while doing this research I found Michael's father born in 1708 is also one of my ancestors. The was a wonderful discovery. Going into this research I figured there was going to be a connection somewhere because Oberschopfheim is a small area and most of the individuals were related at one time or another.

Today saw the completion of the surname list added to the site. The next project is to link the surnames with other sections of the site and ancestry.com. This will take a lot longer to accomplish so I apologize for the inconvenience it will cause. I also appreciate your patience while this update is taking place.

This list does not include all, if any, royalty. That will be a project at a later date.

Today, a new Journal begins. In here you will find links to other pages for sources (some will include both name and email), new words (especially German), and current projects.

As you take a tour of our family site I would like to encourage you to think about your family name and what it means to you. Pride can be found in any family name and that is what this page is about. I want to stress to you I find pride in every one of the names listed on this site. Not all are blood connected directly to me, but they are to others in the family tree.

Recipes

I am not sure who included this in the notes of Nora Ellen Yenne, but thank you. I love this recipe for washing clothes.

Years ago a Kentucky grandmother gave a bride the following recipe for washing clothes
1. Bilt fire in backyard to heat kettle of rain water.
2. Set tubs so smoke wont blow in eyes if wind is pert.
3. Shave one hole cake of lie soap in bilin water.
4. Sort things, make 3 piles. 1 pile white, 1 pile colored, 1 pile work britches and rags.
5. To make starch, stir flour in cool water to smooth, then thin down with bilin water.
6. Take white things, rub dirty spots on board, scrub hard, and then bile. Rub colored, don't bile, just rinch and starch.
7. Take things out of kettle with broomstick handle, then rinch, and starch.
8. Hang old rags on fence.
9. Spread tea towels on grass.
10. Pore rinch water in flower bed.
11. Scrub porch with hot soapy water.
12. Turn tubs upside down.
13. Go put on clean dress, smooth hair with hair combs. Brew cup of tea, sit and rock a spell and count your blessings.
