Judy Carnes Smith

Judy Smith, 60, passed away Monday, August 2, 2004, at Britthaven of Pineville.
She was born March 7, 1944, in Detroit, Mich., a daughter of the late Walter
Carnes and Fannie Smith Carnes. She believed in the Holiness faith.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two brothers, Ben and
Lonnie Carnes; and one sister, Cora Warren.
Survivors include her husband, Birchell Smith, Arjay; two sons, Birchell Smith
Jr., Arjay, and Michael Dewayne Smith, Arjay; five sisters, Mary Warren, Arjay,
Carolyn Hubbard, Straight Creek, Wanda Neal, Straight Creek, Ruby Downy, Ohio,
Freida Pursifull, East Pineville; six brothers, Doyle Carnes, Arjay, Donnie
Carnes, Arjay, Hayse Carnes, Ohio, Ken Carnes, Pineville, Ernie Carnes,
Pineville, and Carl Carnes, Pineville.
Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Friday at Creech-Durham Funeral
Home with the Rev. George Neal presiding.
Burial will be in Wallsend Cemetery. Family and friends will serve as
pallbearers. The family will receive friends from 5-9 p.m. Thursday at
Creech-Durham Funeral Home, Pineville, which is in charge of arrangements.
