WILLIAM W. LINK

, 90, died at 7:51 p.m. Dec. 9, 2005, at St. Rita’s Medical Center, Lima.

   He was born June 13, 1915, in Logan Township, Auglaize County, to Ferd G. and Nellie M. Wheeler Link, who preceded him in death. On March 16, 1940, he married Fern H a v e r m a n , who died Aug. 5, 1996.
   Mr. Link was a lifelong farmer. He was a member of Buckland United Church of Christ. He had served as an Auglaize County commissioner for 11 years and a Logan Township trustee for 23 years. He was a member of the County Commissioners Association for eight years, a member and past president of the Township Trustees Association and served on the Trustee Legislative Committee for five years.
   He was a 60-year member of the Fraternal Order of the Eagles, Aerie 691, and a 60-year member of the Hamer Lodge 167 Free and Accepted Masons. He was also a member of the Wapakoneta Chapter 183, Royal Arch Masons and the Benevolent and Protective Order of the Elks, 1170, both of Wapakoneta. He was a member of the Hawthorne Chapter 119 Order of the Eastern Stars, St. Marys. He was a graduate of the Buckland High School and a member of the Farm Bureau. He was a six-year member of the Buckland Co-op Board of Directors. He had coached the Kossuth Men’s softball team for eight years and the Buckland Alumni basketball team for 12 years.
   Survivors include two daughters, LuAnna (Allen) Scott and Lorraine (Mark) Ruppert, both of Wapakoneta; a son, Ernest (Freda) Link of Union City, Tenn.; seven grandchildren, Renée Link, Mandy Link, Nicole (Kevin) Bailey, Chad Scott, and Melissa, Abbey and Betsy Ruppert; two greatgrandchildren; a close friend, Mary Bowersock of Wapakoneta; a brother, Ferd (Betty) Link of Wapakoneta; and a sister-in-law, Connie Link of Wapakoneta.
   He was preceded in death by a brother, Harold Link, and a sister, Imogene Deerhake.
   Services will begin at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at Bayliff & Eley Funeral Home, Wapakoneta. The Rev. Jeanette Rode Tangeman will officiate. Burial will be in Buckland Cemetery.
   Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home, where a Masonic memorial service will begin at 6:30 p.m. and an Eagles memorial service will begin at 7:15 p.m.
   Memorial contributions may be made to Buckland United Church of Christ.
