My Uncle
Luther Evans, Jr., 64, of Wapakoneta, Auglaize County, Ohio, formerly of Pineville, Bell County, KY., died at 5:03 pm on Sunday, October 8, 1989, in St. Rita's Medical Center, Lima. He was born June 18, 1925, in Pineville, Bell County, KY., the son of Luther and Sarah Elizabeth (Partin) Evans, Sr. On Feb. 27, 1951, he married Aileen Hooker who died Feb.8, 1985. Mr. Evans is survived by one son, Steve D. Evans, of Wapakoneta, Ohio; 3 grandchildren; and 3 sisters, Beulah Evans of Effingham, ILL., Dorothy Bair of Danville, KY, and Mildred Steele of Wapakoneta. Mr. Evans was employed as a carpenter with Bowman Brothers Construction Company, in Lima, and served with the United States Army during World War ll. No local funeral services or visiting hours are planned. The cremated remains will be buried in Pineville, KY. Arrangements were completed by Bayliff and Son Funeral Home, Cridersville, Ohio. Memorial contributions may be given to the American Cancer Society.
