DOYLE L. SIMMONS,

76, died at 6:15 a.m. June 19, 2006, at St. Rita’s Medical Center.
   He was born May 30, 1930, in Harlan, Ky., to George Hoyt and Ethel Mae Johnson Simmons, who preceded him in death. On Feb. 14, 1954, he married Evelyn Marie Webb, who died Jan. 19, 2006. They were married for 52 years.
   Mr. Simmons retired from Philips. He was a member of Orioles Nest 173.
   Survivors include six children, Darla (Marty) Butler and Daniel (Thelma) Simmons, both of Lima, Hoyt Simmons of Columbus, Deborah (Tom) Tallman of Lima, Denise Simmons-Barba of Columbus and Bettina (Richard) Marlatt of Lima; 11 grandchildren, Holly, Amber, Jessica, Michael, Daniel Jr., Christopher, Matthew, Kendall, Corey, Melissa and Jake; three great-grandchildren, David, Eva and James; four siblings, Jerry Simmons of Pikeville, Ky., Barbara McCawn of Weaksbury, Ky., Janet Simmons of Wise, Va., and Chester Simmons of Jenkins, Ky.
   He was preceded in death by a great-grandson, Damon Dale Lawrence; and seven siblings, William, Kenneth, Milford, James “Russell,” George Hoyt Jr. and Ruth Evelyn Simmons and Mabel Wilson.
   Graveside services will begin at 10 a.m. Thursday at the Memorial Park Cemetery Committal Chapel.
   Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. today at Siferd Funeral Home, Westwood Chapel.
   Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society or the American Heart Association.
