BETTY “B.J.” WOOLUM,

81, died at 8:01 p.m. March 22, 2006, at Lima Memorial Health System.
   She was born July 31, 1924, in Dayton to James and Gladis Rumsey Boyers, who preceded her in death. On March 30, 1968, in Covington, Ky., she married Gillis Woolum, who survives in Lakeview.
   Mrs. Woolum had been a buyer at Wright-Patterson Air Force Base, Dayton, from 1950 to 1981. She was a member of Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 8832 Auxiliary, Roundhead, where she had served as president, and had been president of District 2 VFW of Ohio.
   Survivors also include a son, Gary (Cathy) Pennington of Dayton; a daughter, Sherry (Marty) Pesut of Dayton; two stepsons, Gillis A. (Susan) Woolum of Dayton and William Arthur (Karen) Woolum of Marysville; and 13 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; two nieces; and a nephew.
   She was preceded in death by a brother, Harold Boyers.
   Memorial services will be held at a later date in Dayton.
