Second Generation

 

Samuel Cheater(George1) born January 1840, in Chamberlains, Nfld.  He was a farmer.  He married Harriet Moyse from Topsail, Nfld., on December 21^st, 1869 at the Topsail Anglican Church. 

 

Notes on Samuel:  He is listed in the 1871 Directory for Chamberlains. He is also in the 1898 dir for Chamberlains, and in the 1921 Chamberlains Census.  His brother John named his son after him.  His other brother George, called one of his son’s George Samuel. 

He erected the headstone for his parents George and Elizabeth Cheater.  He died February 25, 1929, age 89.  He is buried in the Topsail Anglican Cemetery.  He has a will that can be found at the Supreme Court of Nfld.

 

Notes on Harriet:  She died April 3^rd, 1923, age 78.

Note:  The small numbers beside the bracketed() names refer to which generation the father, grandfather, etc. is in.  Example: Frederick William Chaytor(George2, George1), means that Fred’s father is George in the 2^nd  generation, and his grandfather George is in the 1^st  generation.
