of William Williams Sr. of Bay Bulls, Newfoundland dated 1817
In
the Probate Court Saint John’s Newfoundland
In
the Name of God, Amen. I, William
Williams Senior of Bay Bulls in Newfoundland being through the Mercy and
goodness of God , tho weak in body, yet of found and perfect understanding and
memory, do constitute this my last Will and testament and desire it may be
received by all as such.-
I
most humbly bequeath my Soul to God my maker beseeching His most gracious
acceptance of it,
As
to my Worldly Estate, I will and positively order that all my debts be paid,
and that I do hereby constitute and appoint two of my sons (John Williams
and Martin Williams) to be my executors, to transact all matters whatsoever
relative to these presents viz.
I
bequeath to the aforesaid John Williams Seventy- four pounds, and I
give to Martin Williams, One hundred pounds. To the children of my son Thomas Williams, One hundred and
fifteen pounds, to the children of my son William Williams, One hundred and
fifteen pounds, to the children of my son Joseph Williams One hundred
pounds, to my son Richard, One hundred pounds. To my son Philip, One hundred pounds, and to my son
Jeremiah I bequeath all my right title and interest in the House wherein I now
dwell, together with the fishing Room and plantations thereto belonging, but
that he is to live and abide with his two brothers (unmarried) in the same
premises until he is considered to be of sufficient age and experience, by my
aforesaid Executors to manage for himself and I also bequeath the said
Jeremiah, One hundred pounds. I
also bequeath to my daughter Betsey, One hundred pounds, to my daughter
Peggy, One hundred pounds. To my
daughter Nelly One hundred and fifty pounds and to my daughter Mary, Two hundred
pounds.
I
also give and bequeath to my aforesaid children any other property to be
belonging not herein before particularly mentioned. The distribution thereof to be left to my aforesaid Executors as
follows, a fishing room that I have lately let to John Demlop. Monies and Cash that may be left after my
funeral and other expenses.

Witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand and Seal this Fifth day of
December 1817.

Note that there is forty seven pounds due to me from Nicholas Coady of Bay Bulls, which I leave tp the management of my Executors to distribute to my children or otherwise in any manner that may be required for my use or theirs.

shall Swear that you believe the within Will, to be the Last Will and Testament
of William Williams Senior, Late of Bay Bulls in Newfoundland, planter
deceased, and that you will, will and truly administer the same and pay the
debts and legacies of the said deceased, so far as his goods will extend and
the Law shall bind you, and that you will make a return of your Administration into
the Registry of this court when you shall be lawfully called thereto.
