Philip is my 6Xgreat grandfather from Burnt Woods, Lower Island Cove, Newfoundland. Philip's son Charles is my 5Xgreat grandfather, Charles' son
Charles jr. is my 4Xgreat grandfather, Charles jr.'s son Archibald Shano is my
3Xgreat grandfather, Archibald's son Kenneth Shano is my great great grandfather, his daughter Elizabeth Shanno is my great grandmother. Elizabeth “Bessie” Shanno married Herbert Chaytor of Chamberlains, Newfoundland on January 11
th, 1927. Their son Graham Chaytor is my grandfather, born in Chamberlains.
This will was sent to me by John LeShane, also a descendant of Philip.

Philip LeShano Lower Island Cove ---- Will of ------------

I, Philip LeShano of Burnt Woods, Lower Island Cove, Conception Bay, Planter, being very infirm & in a very weak state of health but of sound mind and considering the uncertainty of human life do now make this my last will and Testament –
I give and bequeath unto my son Charles LeShano and to his heirs, all my Fishing Rooms and Plantation with all the erections thereon situate and being at Burnt Woods as aforesaid for his and their sole use and benefit; and I will, that the said Room and Plantation shall not in any way be sold, transferred or made over by them or any of them but that it shall be kept possession of in the name of LeShano's forever.
I also give and bequeath unto my said son Charles, all the Cattle now belonging to me, for his use and disposal.
I further give and bequeath what money I may have in posession, together with what may be due and owing to me after the Expenses of my sickness and burial are deducted, to my four children: Charles, John, Rachel & Mary to be equally divided amongst them.
I request the Reverend Charles Bate & Mr. Richard Rankin to be the Executors of this, my Will.
Dated at Burnt Woods as aforesaid this Twenty second day of November, one thosand eight hundred and twenty nine.

I hereby certify that the last Will and Testament of Philip LeShano of which this page and the foregoing contain, a true and correct Copy was provided before me by the Oath of the Reverend Charles Bates and Richard Rankin, executors, there to, on the Twenty seventh day of October, One Thousand Eight hundred and Thirty and the same is hereby actually Registered by me this day.
Given under my hand at the Registrar of Deeds Office, Harbour Grace, Newfoundland, this Twentieth day of December, One Thousand Eight Hundred and Thirty. 1830.
