Michigan was admitted to Statehood on January 26, 1837 and is nicknamed the Wolverine or Great Lakes State. The largest cities in Michigan are Detroit, Grand Rapids, Warren, Flint and Lansing with Lansing being the capital. States that border Michigan are Illinois, Indiana, Ohio and Wisconsin . The State flower is the apple blossom and the State bird is the robin. The main agriculture is dairy products, apples, blueberries, cattle, vegetables, hogs, corn, nursery stock and soybeans, and the main industry is motor vehicles and parts, machinery, fabricated metal products, food processing, chemical products, mining and tourism.
